●●● TIPS TO KEEP YOUR DOG SAFE. ●●●
With winter coming coyotes are very active right now. Be alert.

●●●We had a dog and coyote encounter at a residence. The dog had an electric fence. These can be dangerous. The coyote entered the property and actively went after this dog. Thankfully the owner was able to get the dog inside without injury, they were very lucky. Please be on alert and go outside with your pets to supervise them. Make noise. Be ready.

Keep your dog on a leash: Always keep your dog on a leash in public areas, especially during breeding season from January to March.

Don't leave your dog outside unattended: Never leave your dog outside unattended, even during the day.

Remove food attractants: Keep pet food and water indoors, and remove all food attractants from your yard, like fallen fruit.

Clean up your yard: Keep your yard free of overgrown shrubs and fallen branches, which can create hiding places for coyotes.

Install rollers on your fence: Install rollers on the top of your yard fence to keep coyotes out.

Haze coyotes away: If you see a coyote, haze it away by shouting, waving your arms, or throwing small objects. You can also carry a whistle, bell, horn, air horn, or citronella

If your dog is attacked: If your dog is attacked by a coyote, take it to the veterinarian to have its wounds cleaned and get antibiotics.
