The Interactive Reptile & Amphibian Experience, is a traveling, educational Herpetology program. The Herps Alive Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to saving, rehabilitating and caring for unwanted, neglected and abused reptiles and amphibians, and to finding new homes for them when possible, with an emphasis on educating the public. Since our founding in 2013, we have found homes

for over 3,000 reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates!! Licensed and insured, the Interactive Experience offers hands-on displays, lectures, roving programs and custom-designed residencies throughout the country. We have appeared on nearly 300 college campuses in 36 states and at over 500 other venues, performing thousands of programs for tens of thousands of people since we started as a high school project in 1976. Pricing varies with the type and location of program, starting at $200.

One of South Euclid’s hidden gems, the Herps Alive Foundation Reptile Rescue and Education Center, is making changes to better serve our community. Starting 2/1, their full Saturday hours (12-6 PM) will return. Plus, beginning 2/2, they’ll be open Sundays by appointment only from 12-6 PM, allowing them to participate in even more off-site outreach events.

As a cornerstone of the animal education and rescue community, Herps Alive provides vital resources for reptile care while sharing their mission of compassion and awareness throughout Northeast Ohio. 🦎💚

Herps Alive Foundation Announces New Hours of Operation

South Euclid ,OH- The Herps Alive Foundation Reptile Rescue and Education Center is pleased to announce new hours of operation, starting February 1. On that Saturday, full hours 12-6 will be restored. Starting Sunday ,February 2, the venue will be open by appointment only between 12-6.

“This adjustment will not only allow us to better serve our clients, but it will allow us to participate in more off-premises outreach events,” according to Executive Director Keith Gisser. “Outreach has always been a major part of what we do, and in recent months we have had to cut back on that aspect of our mission.”

The Foundation will maintain its weekday hours of operation, being open to the public Tuesday and Thursday from 12-6 and Wednesday from 4-9.

Starting in 2025, Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary will be prohibiting balloons at all reservations and onsite parties and events. This includes balloons that would be kept inside or on displays or at picnic tables or any decorations and games and gender reveals. This is to keep our animals and environment safe.
