Pine Pellet Cat Litter

Scotch Tape for Dispensers
Quart Zip Lock Bags
13 Gallon Trash Bags

We use Purina food specifically. Of course, we appreciate any brand, but switching foods a lot can cause tummy aches. So we always keep a base of Purina mixed in to help with the transition between brands. We are all for happy bellies here!

All donations can be dropped off at our adoption center during open hours, or shipped directly from our Amazon or Chewy wish lists.

Thanks to BISSELL Pet Foundation and Operation Fix the Future is happening FEBRUARY 24, 2025 for Cats Only!

Space is EXTREMELY limited, and you will need to come into the shelter to fill out paperwork prior to the 24th.

Please call us at 269-637-5062 for more information, or stop by to sign up.

Stay tuned for a dog event at a later date - we do not know when that will be yet.

Important Animal Microchip Information

We were informed that animal microchip company, Save This Life, has closed. This closure affects millions of pets. Their microchips are no longer registered.

NOTE: If you adopted through Al-Van Humane Society, this does not affect your pet as we use PetLink microchips.

If you're not sure if your pet's microchip is no longer registered, you can check with your vet, check your adoption records, or come to Al-Van where we can scan your animal's chip.

If the microchip number begins with 900164 or 991, it is likely a Save This Life microchip, and will need to be registered with another company like PetLink.

Meet Spicy McCrispy & Big Mac...yep stray 9 month old brothers found at McDonald's! These boys are enjoying foster life now, but are ready for their furever home together. They are bonded and don't like being separated...so we are offering BUY ONE, GET THE OTHER FREE!! Both are affectionate and seek attention. They enjoy playing and cuddling with other cats too. A bit shy at first, once they warm up to you, they are the epitome of playful kittens.

They have been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and are FIV & FELV negative.

Meet Rodeo our this week!
This lovely lady is all about body positivity. She is extremely loving, very calm and 100% good girl. She may be a shepard/lab mix, although we can't say for certain.
She would prefer to be the only dog in the home - but says she is open to meeting resident cats and kids.
She loves working in the office, and excels at being adorable.

Rodeo has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and is heartworm negative.

Calling all fosters with cattle dog experience!

Meet, Bandit! This guy is looking for work, and a break from the shelter. High energy cattle dog- experience with dogs of this nature preferred. Know any cattle ranchers?? Please share far and wide. And call us 269-637-5062 if you are interested in fostering this angel.

Starting this Friday, November 22nd - January 1st, 2025, Rescued Treasures Al-Van Humane Society will be having their annual Christmas shopping Extravaganza right here in our Community Room! Come make all of your Christmas dreams come true! All proceeds benefit the dogs and cats here at Al-Van Humane Society. Hope to see you there :)

T-Rex update! His new wheels arrived, and we did a very brief introduction today; loosely attached the straps so he could just feel it and see what it was about. He wasn’t so sure this time, but we’ll give him time to adjust and get in some practice! He’s definitely ready to be on the move. Other great news…we’ve actually SEEN him use the litter box now, both poop and pee, and he’s doing great! He manages to get in and out without making a mess. It’s like being excited about your toddler using the potty hahaha. He continues to be a happy, snuggly boy, and flops over on his back for belly rubs whenever he sees someone. He’s also figured out that he can meow quite excitedly when he sees his wet food coming. Thank you to everyone for the continued support for both T-Rex and our emergency medical fund ❤️

T-Rex says, “Mmmm heck yeah snacks!” We don’t spoil our kids at ALL 🤭🤭😁
