The Bastian Agricultural Center is a premier training and show facility with some of the finest equine amenities in the Inter-mountain West. The park has an indoor arena that seats nearly 3,000, 306 stalls for year-round boarding, 300 stalls for show boarding. We have five outdoor arenas (one covered) and a beautiful polo field.

We sent some of our Bastian Cotswold Sheep to the National Western Stock Show aka the “Super Bowl of Stock Shows” in Denver.

Happy New Year, Everyone!

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. The Open Ride Calendar for January has been updated, and we have some exciting events coming up that you can come and watch:

- **Winter Woolies Buckle Series**
- **Utah Ranch Sorting**
- **Jordan World Circus** (Ticketed Event)

As always, the arenas will be worked once (usually twice) a day. We're pleased to report that the **outdoor arenas** have remained open and in good condition, with only a few exceptions on certain days.

A friendly reminder to always be courteous to others in the facility:

- Take turns using the round pen.
- Ask if others are comfortable with obstacles (barrels, poles, buckets, etc.) in the arena.
-Pick up all obstacles after use to maintain a safe space for everyone.
- Please **do not** tie to panels or stalls.

Thank you all for helping us keep the facility enjoyable for everyone!

We’re taking some time off to enjoy the holidays at the BAC, so our open ride calendar is a little different than usual! Feel free to check out our calendar on our website or take a look at the details below:

Sunday 12/22: 9 AM - 6 PM
Monday 12/23: 9 AM - 8 PM
Tuesday 12/24: 9 AM - 5 PM
Wednesday 12/25: CLOSED (Merry Christmas!)
Thursday 12/26: 9 AM - 8 PM
12/27 - 1/6: CLOSED for event prep and holiday festivities

This schedule applies to the indoor arena. The outdoor and covered arenas will still be worked daily, weather permitting! During the winter months, we usually work all arenas twice a day, but for the upcoming week, we’ll be working them just once.

One of our favorite things we put on at the BAC is the Animal Ag Days! We get to bring in students from to teach them all about agriculture and its impact in their lives. It brings specialists from dozens of different ag-related organizations together to provide a hands-on, educational experience - which is what USU Extension does best!!

We are excited to be hosting both the Utah Paint Horse Club and the Utah Quarter Horse Association this week for their combined Heritage Classic Horse Show! This event brings a lot of talented horses and riders competing in everything from Ranch Riding to Hunt Seat Equitation.

It's safe to say we had an INCREDIBLE summer full of camps at the Bastian Center this year, thanks to @saltlakecounty4h !!

We absolutely loved hosting the @slco_jr_livestock show this week! We had some amazing animals, kids and supporters come through and it is always so fun to see. In case you missed it, here is a look at what a class in a Junior Livestock Show looks like.

Another great story from a youth participating in the Bastian Agricultural Center Livestock Program! Good luck to Noah and all the other youth headed to the BAC this week for the Salt Lake County Junior Livestock Show. If you want to be the part of the fun, come on down now through Saturday to check it out!!

The 4-H and FFA Jr. Livestock Program is designed for youth with interest in livestock animals. The wonderful thing about this program at the Bastian Agricultural Center is that it gives this opportunity to kids that otherwise wouldn't have it, just like Olivia. The animals are housed at the BAC, and the youth come to the site to take care of them, attend educational clinics, and go to different activities offered by the program. This project culminates in the Salt Lake County Jr. Livestock Show, which is coming up August 6-11th at the Bastian Center. Come by and check it out!

Kiser DragMaster Tutorial

Mike gives a quick tutorial on how the Kiser DragMaster works and why we are so excited to have it!

We have a new piece of equipment here at the park! A Kiser DragMaster. This implement has been titled the most sophisticated arena drag. We have used it in the indoor arena which is open all day today. Come test out the footing and let us know what you think!
