The dogs are enjoying the new floors in our facility! For anyone wondering, the new floor material is rubber, made out of recycled tires. 🛞
It provides wonderful grip for our older dogs, and makes playing and running all the more fun for our youngins!

Sadly Trex has come back to the shelter, he was just too strong for one of the family members, but thats OK he had a great exciting week, hes been swimming at the lake and playing with other dogs, since he did so well with the other dogs we would like him to meet other dogs in the home he goes too, but we are no longer saying no dogs for him. See we learned something awesome about Trex!

Trex is a 3 year old Husky, he has good manners. He needs to meet other dogs but does well with them at the dog park. Trex likes swimming.
Trex LOVES to play fetch, and does very well retrieving and bringing the ball back and dropping it.

Hi everyone!

An update on the kennel cough situation: we have not received any reports of new cases of kennel cough at our facility in approximately 10 days. Great news! *That is not to say that we can be 100% certain that the illness is gone.* But we are hopeful that with our increased cleaning procedures, less capacity of dogs over the last few weeks, public awareness of the illness going around town, and no recently reported cases that we have overcome the peak of the KC outbreak.

We are continuing to maintain our increased daily cleaning procedures, and will still send or turn away animals displaying any symptoms of KC (dry hacking cough, eye/nasal discharge, lethargy).

We appreciate everyone who was so understanding about this situation. If you were waiting to bring your dogs back to play at TBF, we hope this announcement eases your mind. We will of course maintain communication with all of you if we get any more reported cases.

Looking forward to seeing your pups back for play time! 🐾🎾

**PSA**

Over the last few days, we have received a handful of reports from dog owners and vet hospitals in town experiencing cases of kennel cough. Kennel cough is a respiratory illness that causes coughing, lethargy, and sometimes nasal/eye discharge, and is highly contagious amongst dogs. Although we require dogs to be vaccinated for Bordetella (which is for kennel cough), as with any vaccine, it is not 100% effective as there are many different strains of bacteria that can cause this.

We have quadrupled our daily cleaning protocols and are disinfecting our facility multiple times a day to combat the illness that is going around town.

Please bring your dogs in to play at your own discretion. Make sure your dog is up to date on all required vaccines, and if you see your dog showing any of the following signs, please refrain from bringing them in until their symptoms improve.

-Dry, hacking cough
-Low energy
-Sneezing
-Abnormal nasal or eye discharge

If we see dogs at our facility displaying any of these signs, they will be turned away or sent home.

We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, and want to be as transparent as possible with our customers in our efforts to keep your dogs, and dogs at our facility happy and healthy.

Our scared cats are getting overlooked ☹ Can you share to help them find homes? We have many cats at the shelter that are very frightened and having a difficult time getting adopted. Sammi, Milk Shake and Red Velvet have been at the shelter for a month and would love nothing more than to find a place of their own. Many of the cats that are sitting in the shelter are fearful of people and would thrive in an outdoor home. They still need shelter, food and water, but will help deter rodents in your yard, barn or other outdoor space. All cats come fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. If you have space in your heart for a cat in need, please come visit the shelter at 2127 Front Street. We are open daily from 12-5pm.
