Another special delivery from Clean Juice made an otherwise gray day shine for us! Our goats, cows, chickens, turkeys, and ducks are really getting spoiled with all organic, fresh produce.

We got a FEED TROUGH!
Keeping the animals' food off the ground is super important for parasite control. It will be easier to clean their area and remove inedible waste for composting, too! The critters already love it so much!

Now that the poodle puppies are all off to their new adventures, time for me to do a little brag post, shed a couple tears, for this girl from our most recent litter.

I don't usually let myself get attached, but I really had a hard time with this pup. It came down to sacrificing my own desires for what was right for our family, and probably an opportunity for an even more spoiled life for her.

I regretted rehoming her the moment she left. She was perfect in my book!

After their baths today, the pups got to explore where we had a tree taken down. They had so much fun climbing and looking for squirrels!

She's not too sure about the clippers by her face yet, so forgive the hack job of grooming her, we're working on it 😅

A few people have asked about the remaining poodle puppies for adoption. We'll highlight each one as we get time so that you can get to know them better and spread the word to potential families.
This little girl is very timid. She was the very bottom of the pack. Even looking in her direction can send her running. But, once you have her in your arms, she will quietly and patiently allow bathing, grooming, and petting.
She needs someone with gentle hands and a strong awareness of body language to communicate safety. She needs kindness at the end of the leash for the moments she panics.
In the meantime, she also needs a name! Can anyone help with that?

Today we're saying goodbye to six of the Poodle Pack members! I wanted to give Stella a good grooming and snuggle before she goes. And a new collar makes everyone feel better 🥰
I realized today will be the first day ever that these siblings will separate from each other. They got to be together a lot longer than most littermates, and I think it's time they learn to navigate the world without each other. Still, a little tug on the heartstrings! 🥺

I will keep everyone posted as we get updates on the floofs.

Great news! Today we connected with the wonderful people at our local animal control, who are going to take 6 of the little fluffers! They said it's perfect timing, they have experienced foster families ready to love these babies and give them the well-rounded support they need. They'll get the best of care and the experienced staff there can match them with ideal families. We'll work with the remaining 3 to prepare them for rehoming, and search for families ourselves on this end.
Such happy news for the Pack of Poodle Puppies.

This morning my work was with Boon.
When I shared earlier about pups cowering and hiding, it was mainly him.
But something changed for all of them this morning. When I feed them, my routine is to reach out and touched the shy ones, one by one. Normally they had been jumping back, but this morning, they kept eating. Usually, Boon was the one to stop eating altogether if I tried to approach. But today, see the gate picture? After I fed them, he was telling me he was ready to trust.
I brought him in and gave him his first bath towards a new life.
I can't wait to see the transformation in this big boy.

I thought I had simply been commissioned to rehome some puppies. I didn't know I was going to be a rescue, rehab, shelter and full-time puppy person 🥵

And, forget the leash with Luca, he just wants to be by your side. He is a confident, happy boy that can do anything in the future.

He loves to be brushed and groomed. I didn't even have a collar on him, he just stood there quietly 🥺🥰

My infant got her teeth early, and this floppy-eared friend is going to save my ni***es 😅🤭
Did you know goat milk is easy to digest, and nutritionally resembles human milk?
I told my baby, "Meet your new nanny!"

We had a little adventure this morning!
is having their GRAND OPENING today and we were one of the first 50 customers (felt so hard-core waiting in line before they opened this morning 💪🏼) so we got a year of free smoothies!!! 🍸

I tried The Intense One and it was a little intense (packed with organic greens) but also made me feel so pumped for the day.
What else made me feel pumped? Meeting all the awesome people from who were waiting with me! Wow, such a high concentration of great people in one place! I know where I'm going if I can escape the farm to start a workout routine.

FAVORITE THING: They have a Prayer Request jar where you can leave your needs to be prayed for 🙏🏼🙌❤ how awesome. This is what our community needs: to stand with each other, support each other and lift one another up!

Much to our children's dismay, Rainy is going to her new home on Tuesday. That concludes our River puppy adventures for the year. Looking back, we feel proud of all the pups from this year. They are all shaping up to be good family dogs, and they brought us so much joy in the process of raising them.

Last days of summer. I think we're ready for things to slow down now. We've enjoyed every moment of togetherness, and farm life, and being alive, but it has been busy! Let's settle down now and watch the leaves turn colors.

One of our Nova x Shah Rukh puppies is a service dog in training! She goes everywhere with her person, and is already making a difference. We are so proud 🤗

Two staples in our home that everyone needs in their life...
Chai ☕
Roti 🌕

For the chai, we use organic loose leaf black tea, organic whole milk, and freshly ground cardamom. None of us are coffee drinkers, and chai is our little bonding ritual mid-morning.

Roti (also known as chapati) is a simple whole wheat flat bread, that can be compared to a tortilla or pita bread. The dough is made using only water (sometimes a bit of oil or ghee), and then cooked on a flat pan. We are always generous with the butter on top 😉 It goes with nearly anything, and is our go-to for fast, fresh, healthy food for the children.

Today we're making aloo jeera. It's a very simple way to make amazing vegetarian potatoes. We feel like many of the basic recipes we use here in our home are virtually undiscovered in the average US home (outside of the Indian community). Yet, they are so great for making healthy meals from scratch. This year we are getting many of the ingredients from our own garden, including potatoes, onions, green chilis, and cilantro. Pair that with roti (simple flat bread) made with fresh ground organic whole wheat, and homemade Bulgarian yogurt, and you'll never want to go to a restaurant again!
