Ok……. This silly cow 🤣
We are really looking to downsize on the cow herd. Not easy for me but I can recognize it’s best for my family and best for the animals.
This is Gwen. She was purchased about a year ago with the intention of being our family Milk cow. This poor thing, just can’t seem to find her friends other than the Goats. I prefer not to house goats and cows together so she is in with the other cows, but really needs to find a home with love and patience and could easily live with the goats or sheep. She is very shy but halter trained, and overall friendly. She is not easy to Milk and you won’t get much but with time and patience I think she would Milk just fine for the right person. She is dehorned, she is A2A2 milk tested and disease tested. She has been exposed to our sweet mini bull Finn and Theo (2nd photo) Gwyn would be a perfect fit for a family That has never worked with Cattle before to get your feet wet and looking to enjoy the experience of enjoy raising a calf but really not have a lot of milking or meat goals as she is a Zebu.
She’s economical as finding her the perfect fit is my top priority.

She has some milking experience. very calm and was milked her second freshening, I really didn’t work with her with her last calf. When I was milking, I was hand milking and just pulling her out of the pasture. She was still getting used to the idea and still a little nervous, but I would call her started in Milk training. I wouldn’t call her halter broke, but you could get a halter on her and entice her to move forward with food. Our property is small enough. I just shake grain and they go wherever I need them to go.

This is not an easy decision for me. These cows are a huge part of my heart. With old having a 5 acre farm letting a couple for the girls go is the right thing for all involved.

Big day yesterday. 🧬
We had the opportunity to visit Reproduction Specialty Group, Inc. for the first time at their facility in Indiana.

Marky, Maple, Fiori and  Anita all got Lap AI performed.

Kia, Hawkeye and Hendrix fingers crossed 🤞🏻will be collected over the next couple days to get large quantities of frozen assets for years to come.

I cannot recommend this company enough. My experience was amazing. They were attentive and respectful of my bio security requests. And worked quickly, so the animals were only sedated and worked on for an incredibly short period of time.
(All the girls were done in 20 minutes) after our heartbreaking attempt last year with zero success and a huge financial burn this was super exciting!!

Go make the track to RSG!! can’t wait to announce results in the next 30 days
