FKT is busy everyday and we are helping cats for the right reasons 😻

Here is the past two weeks of TNR kitties who will not be contributing to the cat crisis.

We have pulled over a dozen kittens and helped network others. All ferals were returned to their trapping location.

When you tag FKT, we normally don’t have time to check tags as most of us get tags, messages etc multiple times a day. It becomes very overwhelming
Don’t take it personally.

This little, 2.6 #/estimated 5 months old, kitten was posted with multiple tags and over 125 shares. Sick and severely emaciated and no help, finder decided to grab her and help anyway she could. Finder DID something 🩶
One of our fosters saw the post and told the finder that she would take her.

PLEASE SHARE and help the girls find a forever home šŸ”

Sisters Henley and Tatum are besties and are looking for their forever home together! Unfortunately, their previous owner had a life change and was unable to care for them. They are in an amazing foster home getting lots of love, but need a forever family where they can grow and bond with you fur-ever. They are fostered in Novi.

These two cuties are 1 1/2 years young and just as sweet and affectionate and playful as kitties can be! They are great with people of ALL ages and dogs too!

Some things you should know! šŸ™‚
- Certified lap kittens – They're affectionate, snuggly, and always up for cuddle sessions
- Playful & Social, they’ll keep you entertained and smiling all day long
- Gentle & Well-Mannered – They are as polite as they are cute!
- Great with other pets & kids – They get along with cats, dogs, and respectful children, but would perfer to be the queens of the household
- Adaptable – Quick to settle into new environments and make fast friends

Henley and Tatum may look almost identical, but their personalities are a perfect balance! Tatum, with a charming white stripe on her nose, is the playful adventurer—always up for a bit of fun and mischief. Henley, her sweet sister, is the cuddle bug who loves to snuggle deep into your arms (or blankets). Together, they’re an irresistible combo of affection, fun, and heart-melting sweetness.

These sweet girls deserve a peaceful, loving home where they can thrive. Could it be with you? The adoption fee for these girls is $160 TOTAL.

If you are interested in meeting these cute kitties, please either contact us for an application or you can find it on our website (www.feralkittytrapperstnr.org) to fill out. Once we receive your application, we will contact you to set up a meet & greet!

Katelyn and her mom had a beloved community kitty they named Brownie. They lovingly had him TNR’d and he lived a good life filled with lots of love. Katelyn and her mom wanted to make a donation to us in honor of Brownie! Thank you Lauren & Katelyn!

✨ Brownie & the Colony ✨

I didn’t meet Brownie and his siblings until they were about five or six months old—back in 2010. That’s when I dove headfirst into TNR. They were terrified of me, and I knew they’d never be adoptable, but with help from All About Animals Rescue and their TNR class, I started a little colony.

One of the three was gone within a year. Their mom was impossible to trap, but before she disappeared, she left me three more kittens. By the time I found them, they were at least three months old and just as scared. So they joined the colony too.

For many years, I had five. Now, only one is left—Fluffy, who’s 14. She’ll let us pet her a little and even step inside for a second before freaking out and running back out.

Brownie though… he was different. For the last three years, we let them come inside if they wanted. Mostly it was Brownie who came in, but only for an hour or two before meowing to leave—even in the winter. A few times he stayed all night, but he always preferred his shelters in the garage and outside.

He was the most socialized feral I’ve ever known. Sweet, gentle, never once hissed, growled, or scratched. To me, he was a domestic cat trapped in a feral’s body.

We even did a meow mitzvah for him two years ago—complete with a stuffed rabbi, kiddish cup, yarmulke, and tallit. The service lasted about two minutes before he wandered off. Can’t really blame him.

One of my favorite memories? Brownie waiting with me at the bus stop for Katelyn. His brother Oreo used to do the same thing. The kids on the bus loved them. Oreo passed about three years ago, but the bond they had with Katelyn was something special.

Brownie was more than just a feral cat—he was family. 🐾

To all of our faithful followers,

Karen here…

Kitten requests, we are still on intake hold as far as Kittens. We just do not have the resources to take anymore on unless it’s a medical case which Julie is our foster for that and she is overwhelmed right now. One of the mobile home communities that we help, a couple has been trying to get kittens socialized and they’re trying to adopt them out on their own. We are helping get them fixed.
One of the boys must’ve got tangled up in something while they were at work and broke his right rear leg. He had to have surgery to have it removed we thought about pinning it, but when the doctor went in there not only was the break horizontal, but one of the bones was split down the middle vertically That poor cat
We are asking for help with his bill. Almost $700.
In the past few weeks and months we have had a run on Broken leg cats kittens, dentals, and a Kitten had to have an eye removed because it ruptured and all of this was totally unexpected. So yes, we’ve spent a few thousand dollars on all of these cats šŸˆā€ā¬›

As many of you know we have been overwhelmed with Trapping request anywhere from 3 to 8 a day. The cat phone is a overfull with voicemails and text messages. We are doing the best that we can with the help that we have. We have lost Fosters who either wanted to break and did not come back. I picked up a Trapper here n there, one of my New Trapper’s that’s been with us for about a year is having surgery so she’s done for the year.

We were a little short on our bill today. Can anyone help!?

Wendell was found in Redford. We had hoped the $100 donated by the person who found him would have covered his visit today, but he has a ruptured ear drum and was covered in fleas still after multiple treatments. And he still has to be neutered and vaccinated once he gains some weight. He’s 4 months old and only 1.5 #. At least he is the most lovable kitty patient ever!

As always, thank you for supporting us! ā¤ļø

Fostering is not for the weak

3 weeks in quarantine
Watching them wonder why they are being crated for days…weeks
Not understanding why I am so mean to them.
It’s literally heartbreaking šŸ’”

But when I intake sick kittens
Full of parasites, even ones I have never dealt with, quarantine is a must!!!

But this right here is MY reward!!!

First day after 3 weeks of being quarantined and these littles are so thrilled to be in a fun ā€œno rulesā€ space.

Enjoy the cuties ā¤ļø

Very upsetting and sad post but I feel it must be said.

Foster perspective…
Some of us get tagged multiple times on Facebook
We get messages sent to us personally
Our phone numbers are leaked and we get phone calls daily
We’re trying our best. The struggle is real
But there is absolutely no reason that some people cannot step up and help!!!!
We cannot do this alone…

One of our fosters was tagged multiple times in a post
She had personal things going on with her kid
Could not drive to help a kitten who was suffering
The finder found someone to let her borrow her car and met the Foster to surrender this poor kitten
Freezing cold, stiff and lifeless, hundreds of fleas…

RIP Nora šŸ’”

ļæ¼Please be kind!!!

Feral Kitty Trappers

Based in South Lyon, Michigan, Feral Kitty Trappers TNR & Rescue helps feral cat caretakers with Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). Kittens are trapped and taken to an accredited TNR facility.
