We're sharing some devastating news.
I hesitated to post, but an update is necessary.

Unaltered cats produce litters, often doomed to suffer outside. Most adult cats are traumatized, and kittens usually don't survive past 8 weeks; if they do, their lives are marked by immense suffering. We're emotionally drained, struggling to cope with unbearable pain and suffering.

Little Porter, rescued from Detroit's streets at 2.3 pounds and 7 months old, lost his battle against infection after two days of emergency care.

Your life mattered to us sweet innocent boy…

Zita update…
We have 5 days left of meds, her famciclovir pills, and suppose to have 3 months left of her Cidofivor and Interferon. However, I will not keep her cooped up much longer than her pill time. There are times I can “catch” Zita when she’s snoozing or up in her rafters, that’s when I will get her eye drops. If you have never had a cat with severe anxiety, due to humans who had her before, you have no idea how horrible this is for me to keep her confined. Like a punch in the gut!!!
She’s doing very well overall and her eye is MUCH better!!!
We went through our normal bleeding from the eye and have passed that phase so I’m confident we’re in the home stretch 💪💪💪
I have a video call set for Monday with Dr Ramsey and I will schedule a follow-up for February. She goes in January to Mitten for her blood poke and mandatory vaccines, remember she’s borderline diabetic too.
She’s a trooper and a very special girl!!!

Siblings Persephone (F) and Petra (M) have just become available for adoption!!!
Born early June and completely vetted.
Would love to keep them together but not necessary. Best with children over 8 and we are unsure of dogs.

Both are shy at first with new people but they are completely loving and affectionate with their foster mom. Any home would be lucky to win their love…

Thank you to everyone who donated towards his care and donated supplies for him. We have a long road ahead but we stopped dripping and he is now starting to use the litter box 🙌🙌🙌

We need help for Miss Zita, please!!!!
We got her in for an office visit very fast, next day actually, and she needs to be medicated.

Zita is having a flare up which was caught early and starting medication today.
She should be back to her normal self within two weeks.

Paid receipt along with doctors notes attached.
Please remember we tried to adopt Zita out in a quiet home and she shut down so now she stays within FKT. Doctor Ramsey was shocked that we’ve gone 4 years without a flare up but fortunately we’re getting on this quick.

Zitas foster mom was able to raise $51.00 towards her bill but our total paid bill was
$370.00. Any donation will help us!!!

If anyone could help we would be so grateful. Surprise visits like these don’t happen much but they always seem to happen when we intake some serious medical kittens(updates to come on them)

Dorian is on day 23 of FIP meds and is doing super well! He has gained 1lb and has been SUPER active and more social and talkative. Thank you to everyone who donated toward his care, he is thriving!! 💪

These four kitts have been in rescue for 397 days and it’s absolutely heartbreaking.
💔💔💔

Sometimes we all get into situations where we go on a TNR request and everything is good until it’s not. Most of the time it’s straight TNR and we love that because they have amazing caretakers. Sometimes kitts are not wanted back due to no funds, no caretaker, horrible living conditions or whatever the case may be.
At the time FKT did not have any open fosters but we wanted to get kitts fixed. Another rescue stepped up and had a foster for them.
Which is great, rescues working together is AMAZING 😻

So we are helping FTCR network these beauties in hopes, 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻, that someone will fall in love with them.

FKT has to completely stop any outreach due to lack of supplies. We use to pay for pallets of supplies to distribute to those who can not afford however that program has stopped.
We are all very sorry about this. (Check below for links)

TNR has been our main focus, with
over 65 cats/kittens within the rescue, very slow adoptions, and running on only 5 fosters, we are continuing to focus on TNR.

My name is Emryn…
I came from a place with my brother where people didn’t want us around.
I’ve been doing good but have not been gaining weight.
My foster mom did deworm me upon intake with 3 different yucky meds.

I wasn’t gaining any weight and she started to worry so she took another f***l sample in and I am still riddled with parasites.
Parasites have been horrible this year and it’s been taking 2 full rounds of meds to help. Along with dumping litter 2x a day which is expensive…
Right now, we just had a drontal pill(tapeworms and roundworms), we are doing another round of ponazuril(coccidia) and we’re on day 4/10 of panacur(giardia) and we also get pyrantal(roundworms/hooksworms) weekly as eggs hatch…

We are very lucky to have been rescued as these parasites were slowly killing us 💔

Today I have finally gained weight, only an ounce but that is huge for me!!! I hit the 1.5 # mark and I’m feeling great, even tho the meds are still yucky 🤢

The team has been quite busy past 3 weeks making sure we get to as many as we possibly can. Many of these were TNRd and many were put in rescue, either FKT or networking.

Remember we are only able to service areas close to where our volunteers are. Each trapping takes patience and time and I am very proud of every volunteer we have as they are determined and dedicated to the cats 🐈‍⬛
