Friends of Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) that was formed in February of 2010. Friends operates the South Padre Island Animal Shelter and is under contract with the City of South Padre Island to We do not believe in euthanizing for the sake of over population, thus we are a no kill shelter for the City of South Padre Island.

Save the date Saturday, December. Santa Paws is returning. The event will be hosted by Casa Mariposa with Michael Lafferty providing the music, donuts, coffee and Hot Chocolate will be available as well as pet adoptions, raffles, shopping and pet adoptions. Family and dog friendly.

It sometimes takes a new pet time to adjust to new surroundings, but with patience and time they usually get there. Check out Saint who has been in his home about 3 weeks. Please share your photos and tips on getting a new furry friend to adjust.

Our staff was up and loading cats at 6 AM this morning. Ten cats are off to our partner in San Antonio. We are so excited to see them get FUR-ever homes.

Lost Dog: East Whiting area. 19 years old, last seen around 8 PM. Please share and call 956-772-1171 if you see this dog. It doesn't like to be picked up, so don't try to pick it up please.
