If anyone local to Southampton adopts this dog, I’ll train her (mostly you) and provide all equipment (slip leash, E-collar, dog cot) for 🆓!

Why? May of 23’ is far too long for any dog to be at a rescue. This breed is incredible. She’s at a perfect age for training and being welcomed into a home. Skip the puppy crate and potty training - a three year old dog with a heart of gold is a dream.

This beautiful 3-year-old Belgian Shepherd has been waiting for her forever home since May of 2023. That’s a year and a half of watching other dogs get adopted… of greeting new arrivals… of being a good girl and hoping her person would finally come. As the holidays approach, Skadi is quietly wishing that this season will finally be her turn.

She came to us as a stray through our friends in Baltimore, alongside her buddy Njord (who has been since adopted). We don’t know much about her past, but we know exactly who she is today: a fun, affectionate, whip-smart dog who loves life. She zooms around the play yard, sneaks in drive-by kisses, listens beautifully to her handlers, and melts into your chest when it’s cuddle time. She’s active, energetic, and ready for adventure - the perfect companion for someone with Belgian Shepherd or working-breed experience.

And yet… she’s still here. She has been wonderful with every volunteer, she allows all handling, she tries so hard - but she keeps getting overlooked.

Skadi doesn’t need perfect. She just needs someone who understands her breed, someone who sees her heart, someone who’s willing to give her the home she’s waited so long for.

Please help us find her person.

One thing I love about being a small business owner, and a police officer, are meaningful relationships that can be forged with people who were once “strangers”.

Those who I remain in touch with, and the dozens of clients I’ve interacted with this year, know that the TCC family was expecting a new addition this year! Happy to introduce Amelia (11/22/25)! As luck would have it, she shares a birthday with her brother, Tripp, who turned (2) yesterday! Everyone is happy, and healthy. Bec and I are beyond grateful for the prayers and texts from many of you!

Fun fact - for whatever reason, my son (after learning Camino’s name) has since referred to every dog thereafter as “Mino.” Safe to say he was partial to this pup!

From muzzled to braving downtown on the day of the “Rocky Run” … more people than you can imagine.

You don’t need a “behaviorist” who will tell you to wrap your dog in a blanket when they’re afraid - hire a trainer who can help you show your dog the world.

Dolly got cleaned up before she made the trip back to Philadelphia! Despite her “take home” session being in the midst of the crowd completing the Rocky Run, she did a great job keeping her composure around a sea of people and numerous other dogs…!

He’s full of energy, and is a ball of muscle. Despite some typical stubbornness for his breed, Kylo loves learning as much as he loves all people, including kids, and other dogs.
