🐾 Exciting News! 🎉 Our expansion project is nearly complete, and we're thrilled to unveil our enhanced space very soon. Please note, we'll be closed on July 5th and July 6th as we finalize our move into the new facility. We have great news!! The search for sweet Xena has come to an end. She had been visiting the back porch of a Good Samaritan the past few nights, and after gaining her trust, accepted an invite to come into the house at 12:30am this morning. One of our doctors is friends with the Good Samaritan and performed a full physical exam on her when she was found this morning and, other than a few ticks, she appears to be doing very well. We have started her on medication to treat the ticks as well as a supplement to help with any stomach issues she may have from her hunting around while on the run. We want to thank our amazing community, clients and staff for all of the assistance and care in getting this girl home to her family safely. We cannot thank you all enough!!

As most of you know, a very sweet but nervous Belgian Malinois named Xena managed to get away from one of our employees February 7th. Unfortunately nobody has been able to catch her.

We hired a professional tracker who brought 2 of her scent dogs from Tampa, FL. At the time she came we had not had any confirmed sightings of Xena in 7 days. She did however find multiple areas that her dogs alerted to that could be possible places Xena has been hiding out during the day. We have put multiple large traps out in those areas and they are checked multiple times a day.

She was last seen in Dickens Place neighborhood (cumberland drive/dickens place cove) on Monday 02/26.

Please remember that if you see her, do not chase her. Try and get low on the ground and call her name.

We are still offering a $1000 reward for anyone with information that directly leads to reuniting Xena safely with her family. Xena needs medical treatment; it is imperative that we find her. Again, we are so appreciative for all the help and concern our community has shown.

UPDATE: (02/22)
Xena has been spotted multiple times today on ring cameras around Cherry Tree and behind Mikes Time Saver. Please call us if you see her so we can take appropriate measures to get her home safely. Remember, please do not try and engage with her but try and keep eyes on her as long as you can. Again we want to thank everyone in our community for your continued support in trying to get Xena home!

UPDATE: We are still searching for sweet Xena but there have not been any further sighting since earlier this week. We still have several live traps out in the areas she was previously spotted and we are still searching the surrounding areas looking for signs of her. However, we have hired an experienced tracker to come to help us over the weekend pin point where Xena may currently be staying. If you or anyone you know sees her please do not chase her, call the numbers below and try to keep eyes on her until we can get to her. We appreciate all of the help our community has done and continue to do to bring this sweet girl home to her family!

As most of you know, a very sweet but nervous Belgian Malinois named Xena managed to get away from one of our employees on Wednesday morning. This is a veterinary clinic’s worst fear and was made worse by the fact that even though we tried, we were unable to talk to her owner until several hours later. Since then, we have been in constant contact with her owner. A massive search began immediately, and we were able to get close to her but not catch her. Hundreds of people have joined in the search including our staff and doctors as well as their family members, Southaven Animal Control officers, Southaven Police Officers including canines, a drone company and many unnamed volunteers that have taken time out of their day to help find a stranger’s lost beloved pet. We cannot thank all of you enough for your help and going above and beyond what we could hope for over the past 2 days.
However, with the amazing abilities that a Malinois has, Xena has been able to evade all attempts to catch her so far.

We find ourselves in continued need of your help to reunite her with her family, which is our top priority right now. We are offering a $1000 reward for anyone with information that directly leads to reuniting Xena safely with her family. Xena needs medical treatment; it is imperative that we find her. The most recent sighting was in Dicken’s Place subdivision last night, but she has previously been spotted in Pinehurst, Cherry Tree, and as far north as Church Rd. We have protocols in place to try and prevent this from happening in the first place but will make any changes to ensure it never happens again. The incident is still under investigation, and the employee involved has been terminated because of this incident. Again, we are so appreciative for all the help and concern our community has shown so far. Please help us finish the job and get Xena home safely. Thank you.

The areas surrounding our hospital please be on the look out for a 50 pound Belgian Malinois. She answers to Xena, she is brown with a black face and extremely sweet but somewhat skittish. If you see her please reach out ASAP!

Dr. Keen may have a sling, but that won't stop him from connecting with his patients. In a twist of fate, Dr. Keen experienced a little tumble, and now he truly understands what it's like to be on the receiving end of some extra love and care. Even with an injury, he's here to make sure our patients feel understood and cherished. Join us in sending healing vibes to Dr. Keen and appreciating his dedication to our furry friends!

Precious Paws Animal Hospital plans to be open tomorrow from 7am-11am as long as the roads allow for safe travel. We will have multiple doctors on staff for any of your pets needs!

Due to weather and staffing, we will delay opening Wednesday January 17th to 9am and we will be closing at 3pm in order for staff to get home safely. Surgeries that were scheduled for Wednesday will be rescheduled to a later date.

We apologize for the inconvenience however, the safety of our staff, patients and clients are our number one priority.

Due to incliment weather we will once again be closed tomorrow Tuesday January 16th. But we will be ready to reopen Wednesday thanks to Ausburn Forestry Construction. These guys were kind enough to come to our clinic and clear the parking lot and sidewalk!
