Not only is he the most handsome but he is also one of the safest and sweetest boys out there! Frankie has some lesson openings, along with a potential quarter or half lease options.
He jumps around a 2’3/2’6 course without hesitation. Enjoys trail riding and moseying around our beautiful pond. He doesn’t have a spook in him and typically isn’t going any where fast.

Long lining and enjoying this gorgeous weather here at Red Gate Farm!
Sky has always been a more alert horse. I always give her plenty of time to adjust to new surroundings without throwing too much at her at a singular moment.
Because she tends to be a more reactive horse, long lining gets her out to explore our new home while keeping both of us safe and secure. She is allowed to be reactive and nervous while dealing with her emotions of a new environment, that’s just her general personality and who she is as a horse. At the same time, I am able to continue to push her forward and build her confidence without any of my nervous energy of a potential spook coming and feeding into her.
When she spooks, she likes to duck out and spin away. She has no intention of hurting me, her brain just goes into self preservation mode when she lacks the confidence to continue forward. Instead of me trying to anticipate the spook and spin and sending that anticipation back to Sky in a constant feedback loop, long lining has given us a more positive experience as we adjust to new surroundings.
With patience, time and consistency, Sky and I will be able to ride around our entire gorgeous property here at Red Gate Farm without much worry. But until then, long lining and creating positive experiences are what we are focusing on.
Horse training is never a one time experience and then moving on to the next and never look back. It’s a continuous work in progress. Sometimes it’s 3 steps forward and 5 steps back. But with every step in either direction, building your horses’ confidence and their ability to think instead of just react is the main goal.
