Girlie asks about what a forever home is and I tell her it is a place where there is limitless love and where food is always in the bowl. A place where you take care of your humans and they take care of you. Where a gentle hand is always available with belly scratches and 2 arms to give the hugs you love so much. Girlie is a beautiful 2 year old 50 lb Dutch shepherd/ heeler mix that is such a great dog. She is always ready for a adventure with her human and dog friends and loves everyone she meets. She has impeccable house manners and gets gold stars every day in her foster home. She craves love and attention from everyone she meets including other dogs. She brings the shy ones out of their shells and the hurt ones gentle comforts when a new one comes in to stay for a bit. She loves to run and play and if she could find a forever canine brother or sister in her new home it will make her very happy. She is wonderful with puppies, old dogs, broken dogs and is helping her foster mom tend to a few every day. She offers gentle face kisses to the infirmed and sometimes gives her toy by dropping in in their beds while they sleep. She will also " politely" rough and tumble with her healthy and younger foster siblings when offered and her play style is worthy of a audience. She has the utmost respect for children and elderly people. This girl is the best of both worlds. Fun and exciting with a adventurous spirit then gentle and respectful when needed. She is learning to bike with her foster mom on leash and is doing rather well for a newbie! She also loves to jog along side and enjoys the breeze on her face. Her full body tail wag and when she lays her head in your lap, you can not help but give her the biggest squeeze to watch her smile. In true classic shepherd fashion she will also roll her lips and "talk" to you. Sometimes I can almost hear her say "mama". She is in the company of cats and chickens and although she wants to chase them, a simple leave it command and she turns back around to tell you she's a good girl for listening.
