Irish Setter Rescue of North Texas

Irish Setter Rescue of North Texas Helping Irish Setters in North Texas find loving homes. Since its organization in April, 2001, IRISH SETTER RESCUE OF NORTH TEXAS, INC.

has engaged in the rescue of dogs of the Irish Setter breed who have been abandoned, abused, or whose owners have contacted the organization because they can no longer provide homes for their Irish Setter(s). Often, rescue involves taking dogs from city/community shelters. Upon taking possession of a dog, the organization takes the dog to a qualified veterinary clinic for a general examination. An

y identified health problems, such as ear infections, skin allergies, tumors, and other problems are diagnosed and treated. Additionally, unless we have verified that the following veterinary procedures are current, the vet administers: 1) required vaccinations; 2) Heartworm tests and if positive, Heartworm treatment; and 3) spay/neuter. The organization pays for all of this intake veterinary treatment. After the necessary veterinary examination/treatment, the dog is kept in a foster home provided by a volunteer until a suitable permanent home is arranged and/or until the dog recovers from any medical treatment. Generally, a dog is kept in a foster home for 4-16 weeks.
