About Chitawee Frenchies
Kathy Clayton is the owner of Chitawee French Bulldogs and a long-time breeder with over 25 years experience. She is a member of the national French Bulldog Club Of America (FBDCA) and a founding member of Northeast Oklahoma Kennel Club in Grove, Oklahoma, as well as Show Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer for the soon to be AKC approved Oklahoma Green Country French Bulldog Club. She has bred and shown a multitude of Champion and Grand Champion Frenchies earning her the prestigious AKC Breeder of Merit title. As an AKC BREEDER OF MERIT, Chitawee Frenchie puppies have been given the advantage of superior genetics.
Even with over 25 years experience, there are always new things to learn. That is why we are enrolled in the American Kennel Club’s “AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T’ program which stands for Health, Education, Accountability, Responsibility, and Tradition. It trains breeders how to produce healthy, excellent examples of their breeds is the program's goal. Here at Chitawee French Bulldogs, the primary focus in our breeding program is type, temperament, and health. We attempt to breed an outgoing, well balanced, healthy animal that will be a joy to show and live with. While French Bulldogs are a "HEAD" breed (a breed whose head is the most prominent feature), a healthy animal needs more than a head to function. We plan our breedings to produce animals that are able to move correctly and adhere to the breed standard, without excesses in any one feature.
We do not produce any coat colors that are not approved by the National Breed Club as these type dogs are disqualified from AKC events and prone to have genetic health deficiencies. Puppies which are offered as companions and family members are offered with AKC limited registration (not for breeding or show). Breeding or show prospects are offered to responsible homes by private arrangement. We look forward to helping you choose a new member of your family.
