1. Our longest resident, Apollo. Literally the sweetest dog you will ever meet. Apollo is a 65 lb, 3 yr old, Rotti mix (maybe German pincher) who was left tied to an electric box in MARCH. Apollo is completely attention motivated & wants nothing but belly rubs and sunshine. We think Apollo was kept as an outdoor dog his whole life as he lays outside all day, regardless of rain, shine, or humidity. He is timid of new places but adapts fairly well and quick. Great with strangers, kids, and dogs, but unknown with cats. He is used to being outside so a home with a yard so he can sunbathe would make him most comfortable. He is very obedient, walks well on leash and submissive. He is scheduled to be neutered very soon.

2. Our 2nd longest dog, Shadow. Also found in March, Shadow has been looking for a home since then. He is a beautiful 70 lb, 4 yr old, black German Shepherd. Smart, knows commands and loyal to his people. Shadow is a moderately active boy and loves going on walks and running around with his toys. You'll rarely catch Shadow without a toy hanging out of his mouth.... He walks around & squeaks it all day. Neutered, healthy and ready for a furever home.

3. Tyson! This little Pittie boy was found wandering around walmart last month. He is about 1 yr old & 45 lbs. He has the most beautiful face, fun personality & cute speckled feet. Tyson was found with missing hair all over his body & with a little care and attention, you can barely even notice now! He's absolutely beautiful & a fun boy. He loves to play and go on walks. He's good with most dogs, unknown with cats. He is a healthy boy & will be fully vetted soon.

It occurred to Pooh and Piglet that they hadn't heard from Eeyore for several days, so they put on their hats and coats and trotted across the Hundred Acre Wood to Eeyore's house.
Inside the house was Eeyore.
"Hello Eeyore," said Pooh.
"Hello Pooh. Hello Piglet" said Eeyore, in a glum sounding voice.
"We just thought we'd check on you," said Piglet, "because we hadn't heard from you, and so we wanted to know if you were okay."
Eeyore was silent for a moment. "Am I okay?" he asked, eventually. "Well, I don't know, to be honest. Are any of us really okay? That's what I ask myself. All I can tell you, Pooh and Piglet, is that right now I feel really rather sad, and alone, and not much fun to be around at all.
Which is why I haven't bothered you. Because you wouldn't want to waste your time with someone who is sad, and alone, and not much fun to be around at all, would you now."
Pooh looked and Piglet, and Piglet looked at Pooh, and they both sat down, one on either side of Eeyore in his stick house.
Eeyore looked at them in surprise. "What are you doing?"
"We're sitting here with you," said Pooh, "because we are your friends. And true friends don't care if someone is feeling sad, or alone, or not much fun to be around at all. True friends are there for you anyway. And so here we are."
"Oh," said Eeyore. "Oh." And the three of them sat there in silence, and while Pooh and Piglet said nothing at all; somehow, almost imperceptibly, Eeyore started to feel a very tiny little bit better.

My whole life I have had dogs from the time I was an infant, which was my German Shepherd Bo to my childhood with Sunday his daughter His daughter and GG are poodle Great Dane Josh to my shelties and Rottweiler, pilgrim in Colorado to my border collie Yancie and my Chihuahua Kalli Hope and my cat Miacle Irene and Siamese cat Tao plus my horse caramel nuggets, Hope I look forward to seeing them all one day at the rainbow bridge.

My dear dog, my loyal friend,
Your passing leaves a pain that never ends.
Your absence echoes through my halls,
A haunting reminder of the love we once shared through it all.

My dogs live here, they're here to stay.
You don't like pets? Be on your way
They share my home, my food, my space
This is their home, this is their place.

You will find dog hair on the floor,
They will alert you're at the door.
They may request a litte pat,
A simple 'NO' will settle that.
It gripes me when I hear you say,
Just how is it you live this way?

They smell, they shed, they're in the way.
WHO ASKED YOU? is all I can say.
They love me more than anyone.
My voice is like the rising sun,
They merely have to hear me say,
'C'mon, time to go and play."
Then tails wag and faces grin,
They bounce and hop and make a din,
They never say, 'No time for you,
They're always there, to GO and DO.

And if l'm sad, they're by my side.
And if I'm mad, they circle wide.
And if I laugh, they laugh with me.
They understand, they always see.

So, once again, I say to you,
'Come visit me,' but know this too..

Before humans die, they write their last will & testament, give their home and all they have
to those they leave behind. If, with my paws, I could do the same, this is what I'd ask......
To a poor and lonely stray I'd give my happy home;
my bowl and cozy bed; soft pillow and all my toys;
the lap which I loved so much; the hand that
stroked my fur; and the sweet voice that spoke
my name.
I'd will to the sad, scared shelter dog the
place I had in my human's loving heart,
of which there seemed no bounds.
So, when I die, please do not say, "I will never have a pet
again, for the loss and pain is more than I can stand."
Instead, go find an unloved dog, one whose life has held
no joy or hope, and give my place to him.
This is the only thing I can give....

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN'T SPREAD COLD WATER WITH AN OVERHEATED DOG OR PUT A WET TOWEL ON ITS BACK? !! ️.
HERE'S THE INSTRUCTION OF WHAT YOU SHOULD DO..

Animal lovers, never make the mistake of pouring cold water overheated dog or putting a wet towel on its back. You will see the opposite effect.

Due to cold, the veins contract and due to high temperatures (above 42 degrees), the proteins in the blood collide, causing the blood to become thick and tight.

Due to the combination of these two factors, blood stops entering the heart and organs fail one by one due to lack of oxygen.
The result is a very slow but very painful death.

If you try to help an overheated dog in this way, it will die anyway.

First give him lukewarm water to drink, then cool his feet and chest/belly with a wet towel.
Then put the dog in the shade on a wet towel!!!

Sharing is highly desirable because time and time again we see footage of overheated dogs exiting a car with water spilled on their backs.
