The triplets' commemorative birthday photo. Just in case they ever have a disagreement in the future as to who is the oldest, youngest, etc.

The handsome little arrival just a short time later.

Never give up on your dreams...keep sleeping!

05/23/2020

Dont freak out. This isn't a photo of a dead chick.

Meet Hei Hei. This is how he/she likes to sleep.

Hei Hei was struggling and required assistance during her hatching in order to survive.

This resulted in the beautiful experience of her emerging into the world literally IN my hands less than 24 hours ago.

She/he is a little different, obviously, but fits right in on our farm. ❀πŸ₯°

With all 6 eggs in the hatcher pipping this morning, today is looking like it is going to be filled with hatching pheasant babies. πŸ€—

Wheelbarrow scratches

Little Ollie was just waiting for the wheelbarrow to be unattended, everything is a toy to scratch on.

05/10/2020

Another baby has pipped his/her shell. We expect to meet this baby sometime in the next 24 hours.

Duster Momma

A feather duster makes a great pseudo momma.

Buddy warming his toes in the day's waning sunlight while he naps. What a multi-tasker. πŸ˜‰

05/05/2020

Unfortunately, we experienced a technical issue that resulted in the loss of our entire first batch of pheasant eggs. 😭

We're back with a heavily reworked hatching box and more eggs. Temp and Humidity are holding steady. Fingers crossed.

Puzzle: "Quarantine another month??! Yay...more cookies for us!"

05/01/2020

Little Benny got himself in a little predicament while playing with the wheelbarrow. He just calmly waited for someone to release him.🀣

We're excited to meet our first pheasant chick born on our farm. The chick however, is taking it's time working at a chill pace. πŸ€—

Just love all the sweet smelling apple blossoms.

04/29/2020

Made a nice hatching box today for the baby pheasants that are starting to emerge. Little peeps can be heard coming from the tiny eggs as they rock about in the warmth. Can't wait to see how many we get. Going to try hatching some silkies next.

Our farm is becoming smarter than us.🀣 Just received our Wyze Smart Lock with Keypad, no more fumbling for keys or hiding them for guests. We now have enough cameras to monitor all the animal enclosures and with the current promotion going on, enough Smart Bulbs to control lighting in all the buildings and rooms. We also added their Smart Plugs to control the fans in the barns and to automate the chicken coop run.
If anyone is looking for Smart Home devices at an affordable cost with no monthly fees check out WYZE. They are also a local company in Seattle.
Use code LIGHTUPMYLIFE thru June and get free bulbs for every $20.00 spent. (No I don't get kickbacks, just love the products)

Trying it again this year. Hopefully within a week we'll have baby pheasant hatching.

04/23/2020

Update: This little bunny did not live beyond the next morning. 😒

Just when I thought I was going to make it through a Spring without bottle feeding, this little guy was dropped in the hallway. Bad Marty Cat, but at least we have an opportunity to nurse this little day old cottontail bunnny to age and hopefully free it back into the wild. Your safe now little one.πŸ’•

Clarence and Hugo enjoying the great outdoors together while Marty hunts bugs in the background. Such pretty little boys.

Buddy has found the best sunspot in the house.

04/14/2020

Happy sunny goat faces! Puzzle, Bourbon, Calvin and Ollie.

Whew....finally cleaned out all three gardens and built a greenhouse over one along with a hoop house over the smaller ones. Now we can plant seeds directly into the soil and extend our growing season.
