Hi! Crystal here,
Mother’s Day is Sunday! We’ve got something special planned. Both my mother and grandmother are complete legends in my family and are without contest the most gracious examples of love that I’ve experienced in my life. I am full of gratitude for them.
I try to do something every Mother’s Day to honor my mom, the role that she played (and continues to play even in her absence - as I think of her now through my own lens of motherhood). Not only does she deserve this type of tribute, but it’s honestly the only way I can show up as my authentic self on this day.

I mentioned to you all in our stories that we’d be holding space for those of you who experience the grieving part of this holiday.

So here’s the space… dedicated to the ones who assumed that role for you (does not have to be your birth mom).

Motherhood defies blood relations.

The concept for this community collaboration is simple. This banner will be attached to a wall at our booth this Sunday. Grab a sticky note and share a favorite memory, a meal you loved that only they could knock out of the park, an impression, a song, a thank you, an acknowledgment of the wisdom passed down to you from generations. Whatever it is that helps you to remember and honor your loved one, write it down and add it to our tribute wall. This is to show love. All are welcome to participate. If your mother is still with you, please join us in honoring her. Pictures absolutely welcomed and encouraged.

It’ll be a beautiful time. I hope you all will join us. Mother’s Day Boutique is this Saturday at Idlewild Park from 9-2pm. 💙

Shoutout to the market attendees, showing up though you don’t have to, helping us navigate the wind, lending a hand when our beautiful displays fall down 😓, grabbing a pop up tent leg when even our weights prove to be no match for the wind. We appreciate you!
Also, I have one of your sunglasses! Light blue frames… fell off during the hustle and bustle and later discovered in one of our crates. Send me a message and I can bring them next week.

The most pressing reality is that rent has to be paid on the very building that is being used for the Nourish and Flourish operation. For months (because of complications with the health department), the managers at Nourish and Flourish have not been able to admit working (rent paying) tenants. In the future, the money from renters will fund the rent that is required on the building, but until then, the Nourish & Flourish Kitchen needs the help of the broader community to keep this operation going.
This kitchen for our community, is going to be extraordinary. Be a part of it.

Ika Greens always coming in hot with fresh ways to use Radish Hotel products. 💛💛💛

Roasting kumquats brings out their sweetness (they are still plenty tart!)…they are a nice addition in this salad with blanched asparagus, toasted cashews and a simple oil/vinegar/grainy mustard dressing (we used Orange Tarragon infused vinegar from The Radish Hotel).
