*PLEASE HELP!* Today we had to bring two of our kitties to the vet for serious health problems. Sweet Siamese boy Sammy suddenly lost his ability to use his back legs. He did not get injured as he has been inside our quarantine room since he arrived several months ago. He was sick when we first got him, and then we were able to treat him and he recovered and we brought him to be neutered, vaccinated, and combo tested in July. He got a clean bill of health, but was very scared, and so we did not want to overwhelm him by putting him with all the rest of the cats too soon. But this week we noticed that he was dragging his back legs, which is very serious and very concerning!
We also brought sweet gray and white kitty Juniper to the vet because she had a very large swollen area under her jaw.
This vet visit cost us over $700, which we really do not have available at this time. We are still waiting for test results to come back. Please donate if you can! We cannot take in more animals until this vet bill gets paid because we need to have enough funds to cover their care. So if you could donate to help us with this vet bill, we would be grateful! Betty’s kittens are 3 weeks old!
Thank you to our wonderful supporters who have sent food, donations, and this cute scratching post for our kitties. For the first three weeks of their lives, the newborn kittens of mama Betty did nothing but nurse and sleep 24 hours a day. However, they have finally turned the corner and they are up and exploring! They are so adorable to watch as they wrestle with each other, try to climb their new scratching post, and play with their little mice toys. The little family has accepted five week old Toby and Tanya, who are smaller than these three week old kittens due to neglect and parasites. We got them Cleared up of their fleas, mites, and worms, and now they are doing 1000 times better, and they are enjoying life as little kittens should, instead of struggling to survive on the streets of Puerto Rico.
