Good Morning from American Honey Kennels!

It is that time of year again to start thinking about getting your furry hunting buddies ready for the 2025 fall season, and I would love to be the one to help!

I have kennel spots available this summer for whoa-breaking and puppy intro training to make sure you and your dog(s) will turn some heads this upcoming season.

Please shoot me a message to secure your spot before they fill up!

Thanks for your support, and I look forward to hopefully working with you and bird dogs soon☺️

Rex on point, Boone backing prairie chickens out in South Dakota!
I started working with Rex at 6 months old with Ray and continued his training, then I whoa broke him myself. He has been an excellent wild bird dog over the years. Over the summer, Brett Reagin brought me his new dog Boone to be whoa broke and Rex for some refresher work after letting Boone hunt wild birds last year with Rex as a pup. This year, he went out to SD, ND, and Montana to hunt as a broke dog and did not disappoint. Working with Brett, Rex, and Boone has been a pleasure. It is such a great feeling to see the dogs I train go out and succeed on wild birds with their owner!!

The first photo was taken on February 20th, 2021. I started working with Ray Dohse in June of 2020, so that photo was taken during my first field trial season. That weekend, Ray could not run all of the dogs entered at Di-Lane due to health issues. When he asked me to run the dogs, it was the first time I had done so at a trial. I was scared to death. I had no clue what I was doing, but I didn't want to let Ray down. I jumped on the horse and just imagined myself working the dogs on his grounds and did the best I could with what he had taught me during the months prior. Little did I know that day I would place a dog, let alone place first. The moment I was handed that blue ribbon, I knew I was doing exactly what I was supposed to with my life, and I caught the field trial itch.
The second photo was taken on February 27th, 2024. I knew when I entered this trial it would be very bittersweet to run on those grounds again without Ray. The last two trial seasons without him have been tough, but this trial, in particular, was one of the hardest. I would be lying if I said I didn't shed a few tears riding back into camp thinking about him not being there to meet me each time, but I knew he was there in a different way to cheer me on. It may not be a blue ribbon. My dogs may not have performed as well as I could have hoped for, but at the end of the day, I cannot thank Ray enough for introducing me to this sport almost four years ago and giving me the knowledge to continue to do something I absolutely love. This ribbon is for you, Ray❤️

Good morning everyone!!
Some of you may have noticed that I have been a bit MIA on here over the last month. This is because my account was disabled a little over a month ago due to a hacker. Thankfully, I was finally able to recover my account. If you tried to message me through Messenger during that time, I apologize for not being able to receive the message. Hopefully, the safety measures I have added will not allow anyone to gain access to my account in the future, but in case it does, please email me at the address listed on this page, and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks, and have a great day!!
