We have employees that drive in to work from all over the Upper Cumberland, and we want to make sure they—and you our valued clients and patients—stay safe.

As a result, we will be closed Friday January 10 due to inclement weather.

Wow! Social media can be an awesome thing!
It can also bring about some wild misinformation—so let’s use it for positive, and clear the air!

There is a clinic policy in place that dictates we CANNOT accept donations for a procedure before the invoice is finalized. This is why:

In the past, we DID allow pre-paid donations and ran into a few cases where the total bill was less than the estimate provided to the owner—isn’t that awesome when that happens?!

However, that left us with “extra” money under an owner’s medical record.

We are an animal clinic, not forensic accountants or lawyers, and it was weeks long of a complete mess that interfered with our ability to see as many patients as possible.

We are trying to maintain utmost integrity with peoples’ hard earned money, and that’s near impossible to do when we don’t know what the actual total will be until the procedure is performed.

VETTRIAGE

We will be taking a much-needed break to spend time with our families over the next few days, but guess what?!!? Bluegrass Vet is pleased to offer a new service for after-hours care! VetTriage is a service where for $50 ($75 for equine), you are able to connect to a VetTriage veterinarian by video or phone. They will triage your pet to assess whether or not your pet requires immediate emergency care. If they do, the veterinarian will help coordinate a visit to your nearest veterinary emergency hospital. If your pet does not require immediate emergency care, they will provide home care and monitoring instructions.

EMORY JANE EDDS

We are so proud to announce the newest addition to the Bluegrass Vet family! Emory Jane (EJ) came into the world this past Thursday and we are all so in love!

Dr. Edds will be taking maternity leave for a few weeks, so please have patience with us as we give her time to be with Emory. Dr. Wilson and Dr. Lancaster are still in the office and ready to continue giving your pets exceptional care!

🎊 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. LANCASTER! 🎊

Today is this beauty's birthday! She is a wealth of veterinary knowledge and keeps all of our staff on their toes and laughing each and every day. She does everything with her entire heart, whether it's taking care of all her patients or explaining her love for spray butter and Hardee's honey mustard sauce.
