We have a renter who was in a car accident and no longer has transportation to return the traps to us. It can be flexible day/time.

Donations needed for kittens🐾

One of my employees spotted these snotty kittens at a client’s house a few days ago when stopping by for a dog walk. I was able to trap 3 of the 4 and my original plan was to just TNR them and let them back out. I did get the orange & white one into Animal Allies where he also needed treatment for lice as well as an upper respiratory infection. However, the other two are much more sick, so I decided to treat them for their URI first before doing spay & neuter. They are currently staying in my bathroom (where they’re getting some nice sauna treatments too lol).

The two orange ones have actually come around and are letting me pet them, and I’m confident the black & white will come around soon. That being said, I’ve switched plans and rather than TNR, I am going to foster them until they’re healthy and then the shelter will take them in and find them homes. 🩷 They are kindly donating antibiotics and medication for the lice, but we do need some help covering the rest of their care (mainly food — these little babies are chowing down!) I don’t anticipate it being more than $100 when all is said & done.

Reminder: if you are trapping larger colonies, *please* do not ask our local spay/neuter clinic to make an exception for you to bring in more cats per day. The limit of 1 cat per day is in place for a reason, to make it fair for everyone. They can only do 20 ferals per day, and it is not fair to people who some of the first in line to get turned away because others are not having to follow the same rules as them.

If you would like to get multiple cats in at a time to knock out a larger colony, I recommend buying vouchers through Speak for Animals and making appointments.

At the end of last year, we received a $500 grant from Vanguard Charitable, a donor-advised fund. Thank you to the generous donor who made this possible! 🩷

This money will help fund our food assistance program, which was created last August with the intent of helping low-income colony caretakers. Between the months of August and December, we provided 448 pounds of dry cat food. We hope to increase the impact of this program in our community this year (as funding allows).

For those who are hesitant about TNR, please think of these poor females! And they get r***d by MULTIPLE males 💔

A cats p***s is barbed?

Yes! They help ensure that his genes are passed on through successful mating. He was not born with them, and if he was neutered very young he may never even develop them.

One purpose of the barbs on a cat's p***s is to aid in a female's ovulation. Females do not ovulate before sexual in*******se. Instead, the barbs stimulate the female cat's v***a during in*******se, which causes her body to then release an egg. This is painful for the female, but part of the process.

The other purpose of the barbs on a cat's p***s is to keep the female cat from escaping before mating is complete. She may attempt to flee because cats are more likely to be loners than dogs and resent the intrusion to some point. Mating is also painful for female cats, both because of the barbs themselves and because the male cat begins by biting the back of the female's neck.
