Outstanding alpacas offered affordably, OnAgain OffAgain Farm is home to award winning alpacas. We raise and sell breeding stock as well as alpacas for fiber and pets. Their fiber is hypoallergenic and warm, lending itself to a variety of uses from fine garments to insulation. In addit

ion to animal sales, we offer breeding services as well as sales of raw fiber, yarn, and other items made from our alpaca's fiber. We also carry socks and other alpaca related items sourced in the USA or Fair Trade from Peru in our store. Alpacas are "green" animals in that they produce a renewable yearly product and are easy on the environment. They also have the benefit of providing a never ending supply of alpaca poo much to the delight of gardeners. Our story:
After several years of "on the fence/off the fence" regarding getting alpacas, OnAgain OffAgain Farm was established in 2009. We come with years of animal experience as well as BS degrees from Cornell University -Karen's in Animal Science, Juergen's in Agricultural Education. While our kids were little, we did the horse thing with two horses on 5 acres. Then we moved to Spartanburg, leaving our horsey life behind. Facing an empty nest, one night Juergen saw an ad on tv about alpacas and thought "hmmm, I'd like to do that!" Karen was completely on board. We did our research and scouted for properties thinking we were going to end up in the country. That's when we found the best of both worlds - 6 acres of privacy in the middle of a subdivision, 5 minutes from any shopping including our favorite farm store, and no restrictions on land use. A failed attempt by the city to annex us, made us decide the time was right to start our alpaca adventure. We started 2010 with 9 alpacas and by the end of that year we had grown to 21 and have never looked back. It is just the two of us working the farm with occasional help from family, friends and neighbors - especially at shearing time. The alpacas are the talk of the neighborhood, proving that they can fit in anywhere. Now that Karen is retired from her nightshift job at the hospital, we expect to expand more on agritourism and alpaca products. We are a full service farm offering mentoring before, during, and after the sale. We offer shearing services - specializing in small farms. We love visitors. Please call ahead to schedule a time to come so we can ensure we are home. There is no charge, but donations are cheerfully accepted.

We had a "surprise"birth this morning in with the alpacas. Found this little guy when we went to feed. One of my alpacas seemed to want to adopt him. She had a hard time deciding between staying with him and eating breakfast. Breakfast won! We relocated him to the other side of the fence so mom could find him, but the little stinker found his way back in and made himself at home. I relocated him to the woods where his herd hangs out and he hasn't been back. If we didn't have to worry about m worm, he and his mom would have been welcome in our pasture.

OnAgain OffAgain Farm invites you to our annual Open House/Holiday Sale on Sat Nov 26, 2022 11am-4pm. 262 Hollis Dr, Spartanburg SC 29307.
There will be plenty of alpacas including some cria (babies) just weeks old, so be sure to bring your camera. We will have local artisans demonstrating handspinning, weaving, and needle felting.
Bring your Christmas shopping list as we will have products to please anyone on your list. Since alpacas supply us with an annual harvest of luxurious fiber, we are able to offer raw fleece, felt sheets, roving, rug yarn, yarn, and handmade products that include hats, scarves, dryer balls, coasters, ornaments. Of course we will have socks, stuffed animals, activity books, candy treats, and the ever popular felted soap. We haven't forgotten the gardener on your list with bags of Ahhh Poo! as well as alpaca tea bags (for your plants to drink, not your human).
There are only two things we ask: please park on the street and please your pets at home.
We look forward to seeing you as we celebrate Small Business Saturday.

Our 15 year old Grand Mistress crossed the Rainbow Bridge this week. She will be sorely missed. Rest in peace sweet girl.

That's right folks! This little guy, OA2 Justusfied won a first place in spin off, cottage fleece, and high point in his color group for spin off at the AOA National Fleece Show. He gives new meaning to "pasture condition." Gotta love him - just not after a rainy day!
