GOOD MORNING! We are open for our regular hours of operation (12pm-6pm) for people who are interested in adopting one of our animals.

Please browse our website prior to entering our building, so that when you come in, you can have certain animals in mind to visit with. https://spartanburghumane.org/adopt/
OR you can chat with one of our adoption counselors about the size and personality of an animal you might be interested in.

As a reminder for intake, we are still beyond capacity on space and have no available kennels. We are currently operating on wait list for intake of animals.

I mean how yummy is Mon Amie Morning Cafe? People are talking about it all over the Upstate. You have 3 more days this week to enjoy their fabulous menu. AND you can still make a donation to the Spartanburg Humane Society which they will match dollar for dollar!

Head over there starting at 8:00AM tomorrow morning and enjoy a freshly prepared, amazing meal and help the animals too. The staff is amazing, and they are giving their hearts to help the animals.

Make your plans tonight to be there in the morning. They will be taking donations for the rest of February to help with the spay/neuterl expenses at the Spartanburg Humane Society. We pay to have 32 animals per week spayed or neutered so we need your help.

A huge thank you to Woodruff Middle School! They did a fundraiser for us bringing in all kinds of supplies as well as raised over $500 for our animals! Some of the incredible students also spent their morning with us: reading to our dogs to help the adjust to shelter life, making cat toys for our kitties and even socializing with some of our animals.

If you are interested in scheduling a shelter tour or an hour fieldtrip to read to our dogs with your school group reach out to [email protected]!

ADOPTION UPDATE!

Hello! I wanted to give an update on Tootsie. She is enjoying herself. Here she is on her first night-she followed me into the bathroom, still trying to figure things out. And here she is tonight. She discovered she has a king sized dog bed. 🤦‍♀️

The first one is her first night, after we brought her home.
The second one is last night where she discovered her king sized dog bed.
The third is when she discovered “these people give me treats when I go outside in the rain and cold, so I need to sit by the door.”

Or you can sponsor an adult dog ($95) or adult cat ($50) adoption fee! Make a contribution to our Guardian Angel Fund that helps us pay for routine medical prevention, treat heartworm illness, cover unexpected life saving surgeries and so much more.

On top of being a Camp Love-A-Pet dog, Harley also spent some 1 on 1 time with an SMC student and this is what they had to say about Harley, "Harley first gives off the impression of being energetic, playful, and active, but as you get to know a little more about him, you'll find that this extremely polite boy is more of a chill, laid back dog. He has the most adorable brown eyes that glow brightly in the sun. While he may be a little distant when meeting new people, once he gets comfortable around you, he will shower you with affection and love. Harley is a more independent dog that likes to act at his own leisure; he loves to play fetch, and his absolute favorite toy is the ball. If you prefer a more reserved, couch-potato dog who will also play with you, then Harley is the ideal dog for you. He is extremely sweet, loves hugs, and craves attention. Hi there! My name is Lil Mama and I'm a Terrier and Pitbull mixed breed. I have been described as affectionate, energetic, and entertaining! My favorite activity has to be sitting in laps and getting cuddles. I also love getting soft and chewy treats! They help me learn new commands. I already know sit, down, stay, come, leave it, and place. I also respond well to clicker training. My ideal forever home would be with a person who can take me on lots of walks or runs and preferably a household without other dogs or cats. I would love a fenced in backyard to run around in but an apartment would also be fine as long as I get some outdoor time! I hope to meet you soon!

This beautiful weather has our dogs feeling good! Have other dogs at home? No problem! As you can see a lot of our dogs love being with other pups! A huge thank you to Dogs Playing for Life for training our staff last year in how to facilitate play groups. This truly changes the game for our dogs making their stay with us more comfortable and enriching.

Hope you have plans to roll over to one of Spartanburg's best places to eat, Mon Amie Morning Cafe to eat a fantastic meal AND support the animals at the Spartanburg Humane Society! With the support of Tate Meatworks, the team at Mon Amie Morning Café has created an amazing dish, Rusty's Rockin Ribeye Crêpe and Egg that will hit every tastebud AND all proceeds from this special meal will go to the animals at the Spartanburg Humane Society! They are open NOW and until 2:00 - Wednesday through Sunday. The special is available through the entire month of February but do not delay, because you might want to go back several times! You will love the special decor as well as the amazing crêpe master, and the entire restaurant staff is so amazing - you will be transported to Paris once you enter the doors!. Please share this post and do not hesitate to make a donation for the Spartanburg Humane Society when you are there, even if you decide on another one of their wonderful dishes, you can toss a couple of bucks our way!

For the ENTIRE month of February, ALL PROCEEDS from this amazing crêpe will go directly to the animals at the Spartanburg Humane Society! Our hats are off to Tate Meatworks too for donating the incredible sausage that will be used in this amazing dish. As you know, this exclusive restaurant is only open Wednesdays through Sundays, 8:00AM until 2:00PM so do not delay in heading out there to enjoy a fabulous meal AND help the animals too!
