GOOD MORNING! We are open for our regular hours of operation (12pm-6pm) for people who are interested in adopting one of our animals.

Please browse our website prior to entering our building, so that when you come in, you can have certain animals in mind to visit with. https://spartanburghumane.org/adopt/
OR you can chat with one of our adoption counselors about the size and personality of an animal you might be interested in.

As a reminder for intake, we are still beyond capacity on space and have no available kennels. We are currently operating on wait list for intake of animals.

ADOPTION UPDATE!

Just wanted to share an update on Nacho and Ravioli (lovingly named Oakley and Oliver now).

Oliver's cold has cleared up and he has definitely come out of his shell. Oakley has designated himself the house trouble maker and does love to play and explore everything. Thanks so much! They are well loved and happy boys! So lucky to have them!

We are getting ready for our FALL Rummage Sale! Join us on November 22-23 to get a few great deals and help the animals at the same time! We already have TONS of stuff so spread the word!

Got "stuff" to donate? Reach out and let us know or just drop off during our business hours Monday through Saturday 12:00-6:00PM. Can't make it during those hours? You can drop off on our bench out front and we will bring it in...we are here 7 days per week so we will gladly bring your treasures in, price them and get them ready to sell!

This beauty is Luna. Luna is 1 year old, female, surrendered by her owner who moved to a place that did not accept pets. Described as talkative, playful, friendly, likes to be touched, affectionate, indoor, easy to pick, litter boxed trained. Luna lived with kids 3 years old. You are welcome to come and meet Luna located in our lobby during adoption hours Monday through Saturday 12:00 to 6:00. No appointment is needed.

ADOPTED!!! 11-8-24

Martina leaves quite an impression, 11 inches to be exact. She is a 1 & 1/2 year old, short haired girl weighing in at a whopping 3 pounds. Martina came to us as a stray so not much is known about her past. What she lacks in size she certainly makes up for in personality. Don't let her face fool you, she absolutely loves to snuggle and nuzzle her humans. She has her playful moments and doesn't particular like to be picked up. Martina hasn't been known to share her affection and doesn't seem to like other cats here--but could be a different story in a home setting.

Come over and meet this little ball of fluff and personality today. We're open for adoptions from 12pm-6pm Monday-Saturday.

Our hat is off to both the donor and the recipient on this one...

Today we received a wonderful donation for the animals here at the Spartanburg Humane Society in honor of https://www.facebook.com/lecomtilitycontractors for getting their power back on Glendalyn Avenue! How fantastic is that??!!

It is true, all of these crews did amazing work in our community!

Thank you to this generous donor to remind us and to think about the animals too! Truly amazing!

It’s time for Heartworm and Vaccine Clinic – join us today, November 4th from 4:00-6:00PM.

Please get your dog tested for heartworm disease and get it on monthly prevention. OR we offer a 6-month shot for $50 (dogs 70 lbs. and under) and $60 for (dogs over 70 lbs.) that takes the worry of remembering each month for 6 whole months! We also offer heartworm prevention by the month or buy 6 months and get one free or buy 12 months and get 2 months for free!

Heartworm disease is deadly and it can come from 1 mosquito bite so please get your dogs on prevention! We live in the land of the mosquito! Treatment is expensive and very hard on your dog so it is much easier to prevent it than to treat it.

Show up Monday, no appointment necessary and get your Heartworm test, get your heartworm and flea prevention and get your other vaccines too!

ADOPTED!!! 11/6/24

It's Freckles' world and we're just living in it. Freckles is named after his unique coat, his spotted snout is not the only thing that is different about this sweet boy, he is truly one of a kind. From his breed (Catahoula Leopard dog) to his quirky personality you will not mistake him for anyone else. He is a calm boy who seems to be happiest when he is getting attention from his humans. He can get comfortable almost anywhere, from his big dog bed to a small office chair. He is not picky. He just wants someone to share his naps with. Freckles is known to be a bit of a diva, demanding petting and attention when he feels like you haven't given him a sufficient amount. But with his soft, velvety coat, you are not going to want to stop cuddling this guy. He hasn't had a chance to be introduced into our doggy playgroups, but with an introduction to potential fur siblings he should be fine! Come meet this sweet boy to experience his uniqueness for yourself.

We are open for adoptions from 12pm-6pm Monday-Saturday.

Meet Glinda, a 1 yr old, Terrier Mix at Spartanburg Humane Society. And she's all puppy. She's doing well on her leash skills, but still needs work on her puppy manners. We're getting there. She's very receptive to instructions and loves to please. Particularly if you have a scooby snack. And her coat feels like velvet. Stop by SHS or call 864 583 4805 to meet your new family member. She's waiting to show off her puppy skills.
