Ormans visit to the vet today yielded some lead! It was right in line with his heart, but never broke the rib cage.. I know what everybody’s question is going to be and we don’t have the answer. All that we can do is be thankful that he was found and is now safe and out of harms way.

An additional update on Orman, he is still battling an infection in his side wound. He was caught December 1st at Orman Dam. He has been receiving multiple different antibiotics, ultrasound, 2 flushes, a temporary drain installed. He just can not overcome it. Tomorrow he is scheduled for an X-ray and discussions of removing the entire section of skin have been had. The 2nd picture shows how filled the pocket is with fluid each day, before having it drained. He is a champ going through all this poking and prodding, and hopefully will be on the road to recovery soon.

Smokey! Smokey has been moved in with the rest of the cats in our midsection! He is healed up and doing great although fighting a bout of nausea and diarrhea. He tested negative FIV/FELV and took a try in our cattery but he was noticed several times giving attitude to some other cats. This big guys 1 definite testicle was removed, the other is MIA. We can then say he is now neutered, although his p***s is not functional for reproduction. He was still neutered because by removing those parts it’s beneficial for the his life by reducing the risk for certain cancers, fighting over the ladies will be eliminated which lowers his risks for injuries, and diseases that spread from bites. He can urinate from a small weeping hole and he does great getting to his litter box. Smokey is up for adoption and as we do with all of our animals, we will be looking for the best home for him.

Meet Teardrop!! She is a cute mini Aussie/Blue Heeler. She’s 7 months old and not yet spayed but vaccinated. She is needing a new home due to her owners moving. She weighs 25 lbs and is not expected to grow much more than another inch or so. She is super sweet but scared right now, but seems to be warming up to us.

Our bottle babies will be at the shelter tomorrow for their 1st round of shots. Please come in to meet them and say hi.

Look at this handsome couple! Meet Chloe and Randy, Papillon/Japanese Chin. Chloe (tan) is 7.5 yrs female, spayed and vaccinated. Randy (black) is 8 yrs neutered and vaccinated. They are both looking for their forever home together. They both love being outdoors and have sweet personalities. Chloe can get jealous and is a little cautious of new people, Randy is more outgoing and trusting. He loves to be brushed and getting better with car rides. If you’re interested in giving these two a place to call home, please fill out an application on our website and come in to introduce yourself and meet them.

The quilt ladies strike again! Fran & Ilene have made a twin size quilt to use for a raffle. The raffle will benefit our shelter in the form of starting an emergency animal fund. This fund will help us care for animals that come into us needing emergency care.

Tickets are $10 with only 50 tickets available to purchase. Tickets are available at the humane society. The drawing will be held February 14th. Get your sweetheart a quilt and save a pets life! Please share to help spread the word.

These little babies will be ready for their new home January 21. They will be ready to meet January 14. They will come with their first round of shots and wormed. Cost is $200 plus a deposit of $150 which is returned as soon as you show proof you got them spay/neutered.

Adopted

Dixie, a 2yr old golden doodle, is our newest resident. She is a hyper girl and likes dogs but gets a little domineering when rough housing with other dogs. She is good with cats and older children. She was surrendered because their smaller child didn’t want to stop hugging and Dixie nipped at her face. She has been with the family for 2 years so we cant be certain this was out of aggression or frustration. She is spayed and vaccinated

Our 1st adoption of the year!! Pogo was reunited with a past family that will love him forever.

Our bottle babies are scoring a 10! They have their eyes open, walking around, gaining weight and wrestling with each other. A big thank you to Lynn and her husband for fostering for us, again! Just when they were having puppy fever these littles were brought in.

Thank you everyone!! We have a stock of milk now for the foster and we will provide updates on their growth. have puppies in need! 12 days old and mom has mastitis and not able to nurse them. We have a few cans to start but we know that won’t last but a few days. The last litter of 9 bottle babies required just over $1000 worth of formula to get them until solid food. If you can help we would gratefully accept it. Powder is preferred to avoid diarrhea.

Chuck has been adopted!! Everyone meet Chuck! He’s about 10yrs old, neutered but needs vaccinations. He is part Dachshund, possibly Maltese, he is larger than either of those breeds. His owner moved into a nursing home, so Chuck is ready for the next best home. He is a happy go lucky kind of guy. Will chase cats if they’re running but otherwise doesn’t mind them. He loves children and would like a family to welcome him into their home!

Everyone is reunited! Please help find this dogs owner or catch him for the Butte County Sheriff’s Office. He’s been hanging around in the same spot in St.Onge for a couple days.

Meet Harley! He’s a 4 yr old neutered descended ferret. We won’t know a lot about him yet as he just came in. He is for adoption but we would like to get to know him a little before he leaves so we know how he does with children and other pets.

Do you remember Flash? He was found dragging himself around at a construction site and was told the only option was to euthanize him. The person didn’t give up and he landed in our hands. Our vet couldn’t find the reason he wasn’t able to walk. But after time and physical therapy he is walking and climbing. The video is in the comments. He is now at the shelter enjoying life in the cattery and waiting for his forever home.

All of these puppies have found their homes! These two puppies are still up for adoption as we have not heard back from the pre-adoption family. Both are female and ready to get out of here.

Bella’s pups have their eyes open and starting to wander around! She’s a great mom and a wonderful dog.
