Darlings.. when you hire a skilled laborer,
you are *not* paying to support the time it took to complete the task.
Carpenter, Chiropractor, Pet Groomer, Electrician, Tattoo Artist, Hair Stylist, Masseuse, Animal trainer, Health Professional…
Whatever skill you require to hire out in order to make your life go smoother..
All of them. It’s all the same.
The quote they gave you was based on a myriad of things, most of them having very little to do with how long the task will take.
You are supporting the years of work it took to get them to a level where they could help you professionally.
You are supporting the tools and property loans they had to take out in order to serve you to the best of their ability, and the ongoing upkeep on both of those.
You are supporting the emotional, and often very physical journey your dog, and I go on as they learn to lovingly trust me throughout our time grooming together, therefore helping them become healthier and altogether better dogs for society, being able to be comfortable, knowing that even very personal, new, and intense experiences do not have to be bad. 💪🏼💙

You are supporting the hours of prep before you showed up, and the cleanup time when you are gone.
You are supporting previous and ongoing education so that these people can serve you better in a rapidly changing world.
You are supporting the fact that most of these jobs are very hard on a body, and therefore must have limited availability because people cannot possibly do them at a racers pace, and also be able to work a full career without hurting or retiring early due to injury.
It is your choice to go to whatever skilled laborer you want to go to, and that is wonderful and liberating.
I am not everyone’s groomer, and not all carpenters are everyone’s carpenter.
To many of you, the skill level doesn’t matter, and you just want the cheapest one.
That’s totally OK.
But that’s not me.

I work with clients that are also willing to work with me.
My entire life is based on kindness, respect, and hard work.
If I agreed to take you on as a client, I decided that you are worth my time, kindness, respect, and hard work.
Because of that, you are going to get a beautiful product, and I will make myself available to help you on your journey.
I guarantee you, I am worth every penny.

We all have our favorite hairdresser, the most creative contractor in town, a visionary architect…
 Quality has value. High value.
Too many skilled positions are dwindling, because the prices that are required for the work that is put out is spoken negatively against, and it is defeating and deflating.
No matter what, these things need done, and we all need to continue support each other.
(I firmly believe that many ways we are going to need to support each other in the future is to spread the good of the DIY side of things where people who can, do help themselves in every way possible to lessen their needs.)

I’m not in the least bit worried about being wildly successful finding more clients, but you all need to know that *wherever you’re going for your skilled labor, you have chosen that person and their price is their price.
Do you research, and choose wisely.
You all have different needs, and there are many different people out there to help you.
But never forget, in every area,
Quality work is an Investment.
Go forth, and be well.
See you soon.
