The Spencer Police Department regrets to announce the passing of retired (2015) Animal Control Officer Carol Gaucher. Carol and her husband Peter Gaucher, who predeceased her in 2022. Owned and operated Walnut Hill Farm in Spencer for over 53 years and they served the Town of Spencer as Spencer Animal Control Officers for 35 years. Carol was hard working, dedicated, and loved all animals. Carol was known to care for sick or injured animals at her own home that she would encounter as an Animal Control Officer, sometimes at her own expense. Our heart felt condolences go out to her family.
