Our Christmas Cup K9 competition was Saturday. Here are pics of the winners.
Single-purpose teams: First place Shannon Fritz and K9 Griff. Second place Grant Foster and K9 Uhtred. Third place Mila Owens and K9 Zigo.
Dual-purpose teams: First place Georgia Smith-Christopher and K9 Kolo. Second place Laura Pickel and K9 Kuno. Third place Adam Witherspoon and K9 Obadiah.
Each team ran 4 times in a grueling effort in the skills of detection, agility, obedience, and (dual-purpose teams) suspect apprehension.
It was a fun, exhausting, and rewarding type of day :) Each team worked hard, learned from mistakes, and pushed on! Great job everybody!

It's National Police K9 Day! This is a day set aside to honor the contributions of these amazing four-legged officers. They work tirelessly, faithfully, and happily without complaint. These dogs face risks just like human officers. Some of them die in the line of duty. As a non-lethal use of force, these dogs make our streets safer by providing the handler, the public, and the suspect with an added layer of protection.
