One of the great things about attending DTC is the friendships and networks our students develop. After 4 weeks of intensive police K9 handler school, Master Trainer student Jacob Hays (from Texas) and Sheriff department K9 handler C. Hallam pose for a pic with K9 Paya. Many of our classes form lifelong friendships and network for one another ("I'm looking for a detection dog; anyone have one available?"). We like to say that our school is "warmly professional." It's a high level of performance sprinkled with a healthy dose of friendship and empathy for both canine and human.

Off to start another trail, this time with Hank the wirehaired pointer. The track layer laid a challenging trail but Hank and Master Trainer student Jacob Hays got the job done! Plan ahead for DTC's Acceleration Days. These are free days of furthering your education as a dog trainer. All grads of DTC who are current on their school bill are welcome to attend. This year these days will be held on September 11-13. 11th is Obedience and Service Dog (open to all Obedience, Master, protection, and SD grads). 12th is detection/trailing (open to K9 and Master grads). 13th is bitework (open to K9, protection, and Master grads). Attendees will receive a certificate for CEC's - Continuing Education Credit.
