Some facts you may not know. The Tulsa Spotlight CLUB was actually formed in spring of 1952. It's mission was to promote the arts in the Tulsa area. The play "The Drunkard" was adapted from another play "Ten Nights in a Bar Room" to be performed as a fundraiser for the club in November 1953. The performance was such a success that it has continued to be performed on our stage (the very same stage) every Saturday night for over 70 years. We continue in our mission to provide a stage every Saturday night for local area talent with our Olio presentation immediately before our record breaking performance of "The Drunkard". We would like to invite you to come see this weeks entertainment line up featuring Sweet Adeline's, Millie & Maude and Oklahoma Performing Arts. Holy spotlight, Batman...Did you see the lineup for this week's Olio at the Spotlight Theater? Steve Spracklin is going to be there playing some Ragtime music, and that new kid, Drake Shackleford is going to be singing some Barry Manilow and Frank Sinatra songs along with Cooper Cornelius who will be singing some great country songs. And let's not forget Bill "Ragtime Bill" Roland will be on the piano playing many old time favorites for our sing-a-long. All of this just before our presentation of "The Drunkard" making this truly one of "Tulsa most entertaining evenings". We have another great entertaining evening coming your way this Saturday night at the Spotlight Theater. This week will feature Larry Cochran. A great singer that is a joy to every one. We also have Crayons Inprov group making there debut performance on our stage. Allison Bishard will close the Olio portion of our show. You will then see a performance of "The Drunkard". Announcing Open Auditions for the Tulsa Spotlight Theater’s production of “The Drunkard”. The Drunkard is the longest running production in the United States performing every Saturday night for over 70 years.

We have a unique production that includes a rotating cast which means that we have several actors for every role in the cast. This allows actors to have nights off for other activities, including performing in other productions at the same time. We have new actors and some actors who have been performing in our production for over 40 years.

This production is a melodrama adapted from a novel written in the 1850’s. We use period sets, costumes and language. This is a very unique production. A great emphasis is placed on maintaining melodrama as it we performed over a century ago.

Experienced actors are invited to audition as well as people who have no acting experience. We will train you. Male/Female ages 13 and up. We are particularly needing adult men. But, all ages are welcome

Auditions are Wednesday (tonight) at 6:30pm at the theater. 1381 Riverside Dr., Tulsa. For more information call/text Mark Roberts, Director at 918.408.5082 (or, just show up)

If you would like to audition for our play, we would love to have you join us. We are looking for experienced actors as well as those with no acting experience. We will train you. We have openings for all roles.

We have a rotating cast with several actors for each of the roles and we perform our show every Saturday night. This means that a person can take as long as needed to prepare with no pressure for deadlines.

Having multiple actors for each part also gives a degree of freedom in planning for nights when you can’t do the show, or when you really want to be on stage. The cast schedule is prepared in advance, and allowances can be made for absences to appear in other productions.

Auditions are held each Wednesday at 6:30pm at the theater.

Oklahoma performing arts will lead off, followed by the great magic of Pete Waltersheid and then you will be entertained by the sweet adelines. I was just sitting around in the bar the other night, Asking myself, "what I could do this weekend?" Then it dawned on me. I could go see The Drunkard at the Tulsa Spotlight Theater. Starting off with a great magic show by "Magic by Pete". He will literally dazzle you with his magic. A CAN'T MISS opportunity. Pete will be followed by our own Ella Powell. A fantastic singer from Owasso. Then followed by our production of "The Drunkard" featuring a debut performance by Natalia Kepter as Ann Slade. You definitely want to be there to cheer her on. Sue Wiedemann will be our emcee this week. She is promising to surprise us with a stunning new period outfit she got just for this show.
