A big Thank You! to all who came to the Trillium Valley Rodeo Dogs Trials yesterday!! I think it was a big success :-) We had 15 dogs and 85 runs all together! Thank you to all Rosie Campbell for hosting! Thank you Robert Petty for handling all of the registrations and helping at the sign in table with Becca, thank you to Theresa & Denise for judging and Nancy & Misty for scribing. Everyone who volunteered to help out, Sylvie at Celestial Photography for great photos & especially those who participated!! You are all so amazing!

Hi Everyone,

Here are a couple of classes that will be starting in Oct.

Obstacle Confidence class Wed. Oct. 9th at 10:00 am. This class is a great foundation class for dog sports. We’ll work on strengthening basic obedience behaviors, targeting, adding duration & distance to *stays *, obstacle work – for Parkour and basic agility as well as Fitness exercises. We’ll also work on having your dog work away from you. 6 weeks/$150.

Tues. Oct. 15th 1:00 pm, Puppy/Good Manners class. This is open to all dogs looking for a good foundation of basic behaviors and good manners. For the puppies in the class(up to a year old per AKC) – I will offer the AKC STAR Puppy test at the end of the 6 weeks: https://www.akc.org/products-services/training-programs/canine-good-citizen/akc-star-puppy/

Thurs. Oct. 17th 6:00 PM STAR Puppy class – this class is based on the AKC S.T.A.R Puppy curriculum with the test being offered on week 6. More info on the STAR Puppy program: https://www.akc.org/products-services/training-programs/canine-good-citizen/akc-star-puppy/

New classes starting in September:
Tues, Sept. 10th 10:00 a.m. Proof It class. this is a class for advanced dogs who reliably walk nicely on leash, have a reliable stay, recall, sit, down and *go to place/mat* behavior. We will work on proofing these behaviors by adding duration, distance and distractions, working in different areas, etc.
Tuesday, Sept 10th at 11:00 Beginner Hoops & Tunnels class - this class if for those who have never done or have very little experience with Hoops and Tunnels. Foundation behaviors and short/easy courses.
Tues Sept. 10th at 6:00 p.m. Rodeo Dog class. This is an intro to Rodeo Dog, we'll cover beginner and performance levels for both the Clover pattern and Straight Line. The last 2 weeks of class we'll run practice courses and work on one of the games offered by Rodeo Dog.
Wed. Sept 11th 9:00 a.m. another Rodeo Dog class. (see above description)

Time to get your Rodeo On!!! Team Trillium will be offering 2 days of Rodeo Dog trials in Oct!! I believe the first trials to be held in Virginia :-) Oct. 19th at Walnut Hill Farm in Reva and Oct. 26th at Freedom Farm in Oak Park (both are in Madison County) more info to come!

For those who have already taken a Rodeo Dog class or workshop, I'm going to have fun runs on Wed. Aug 28th at 11:00 a.m.
$5/dog= 1 run on each course plus one of the games that will be set up.

Here is the schedule for the next session:

July 23rd Tuesday 9:00 a.m. STAR Puppy/ Good Manners class
10:00 a.m. Canine Good Citizen/Therapy Dog class

July 24th Wed. 9:00 Tricks & Puzzles class
10:30 Rodeo Dog (this will be a 4 week class)

July 25th Thursday 10:30 Rally Obedience
6:30 Puppy/Good Manners class

Aug. 8th Thursday, 9:00 Good Manners class

Classes are 6 weeks/$150 – except Rodeo Dog which is a 4 week class/$100

Hi Everyone,
Here is the line up of classes that will begin the week of May 21st :

**Tues mornings at 10:00 a.m. beginning May 21st, STAR Puppy class – basic training for your puppy! I will offer the AKC S.T.A.R. puppy test the last week of class for those interested in testing.

**Thursday mornings at 10:00 Obstacle Confidence class – this class will cover foundation obstacles and behaviors for various dog sports - fitness, Parkour, Rodeo Dog, agility & other dog sports

**Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m. another S.T.A.R. Puppy class

*** I will add classes on Tues & Thurs if there is enough interest in one particular class (Need at least 4 people per class). You can let me know your interest & I’ll advertise to see if there are others interested.

** I’m also going to start Run Throughs for Hoops & Tunnels/Grounders, Rodeo Dog and Rally on some Wed. mornings for those who’ve taken those classes before. More on that later.

To sign up for a class, please reply to this email and I will add you to that class. I will then send an email out to the group before class starts with all of the info that you need for the class you signed up for.

Hi Everyone,

We have some new people interested in joining in the practice sessions for Rodeo Dog! YAY!!!

As the practices/Run Throughs are not a teaching experience (and, I’d like to be able to run my own dogs 😉 ), I’m going to offer 2 short 4 week Rodeo Dog class, Thursday mornings at 10:00 and Thurs evenings at 6:00 pm. Classes will start Thursday April 4th.
Discounted price: 4wks/$75

The next session of classes will begin the week of March 12th:

Tuesday March 12th , 12:30 Puppy class for puppies 9 weeks to 10 months.
1:30 Family Dog class – this class covers behaviors to turn your dog into a polite all-around family dog. We’ll work on loose leash walking, stay/wait, recalls, leave it, self-control, polite greetings, etc.

Wed. March 13th, 10:00 Parkour Fun for Your Dog – a great confidence building class for all dogs, based on the International Dog Parkour Association, we’ll work on the novice and intermediate behaviors.

11:00 Basic Obedience – we’ll work on proper heeling, fronts, finishes, stays, stand for exam, recalls, etc.

2:30 Family Dog
