Why is my cat scratching at his ears?
They might have some of these crawling around!
Otodectes cynotis, is a mite that lives on cats and sometimes dogs. It is usually found in the ear canal but it can also live on the skin surface. Ear mites are highly contagious, and animals become infested by direct contact with another infested animal. The mite is barely visible to the naked eye and may be seen as a white speck moving against a dark background.
If you happen to find black debris in your cat’s ears, make an appointment to bring them in so we can make sure they are not packing around these little freeloaders.

A first vet visit for June the black and roan GSP becomes an impromptu puppy play date with Dr. Bynum’s new puppy. Why does puppy wrestling look so vicious in slow motion? 🤣🤣🤣
Peppy the 18 year old pooch looks good in his traction socks and goggles while enjoying a laser session on his hips and knees. We’ve definitely noticed a little “pep” in his step following a few sessions. 😀
Mrs Jetta got an ultrasound today to check on her babies. She loved Shelbi’s belly rubs so much that she fell a sleep during the ultrasound. Thank you Dr Bynum and the team for being so great.
Welcome to the world babies. Dr. Bynum and his amazing team helped make this little bunch happen and made sure they came in to this world safe and happy. Mama and babies are doing great.
