So let’s talk about cage items…

If you’re a mentee of mine, you already know to ask me before you purchase anything to make sure it’s safe, you don’t waste money, or risk your babies lives.

I recommend you NEVER order from Amazon.

Theres no way you can check the safety of the sewing on the things you buy. There are approved vendors for making glider items and I can send you links, so just ask. Better safe than sorry. Coming home to an injured (or even dead) glider is not something you wanna risk.

The jungle set in the first image has been recently linked to Glider death and loss of limbs so please avoid buying it! The low price isn’t worth your gliders life.

Bird toys (second picture) are also really unsafe. Gliders will chew on toys and the dye used on the blocks in bird toys aren’t always safe.

Rope isn’t safe because their nails can get stuck and gliders are self mutilators. They will chew themselves free even if it means chewing off a toe or foot.

Shells can break and also hurt gliders, so it’s best to just steer clear of bird toys altogether.

The last two images are just items on amazon. The only thing that’s safe on those are the C-Clips.

PLEASE JUST AVOID AMAZON FOR YOUR GLIDERS CAGE ITEMS! 🥺🙏🏻

Sooooo I found these ADORABLE silicone molds and I froze my nectar (from the ensure diet) and they turned out great! It doesn’t do anything for the gliders, but it sure makes ME smile 😁 and keeps their food fresher, longer.

TOYS WITH ELECTRIC PARTS OR LOTS OF SCREWS.

Hope this helps everyone understand and learn how to pick proper toys from thrift stores. 🥰🙌🏻

This toy was in the cage of one of the gliders I’ve taken in in the past.

I opened this toy to show all of you exactly why you shouldn’t put toys with electronic parts or toys with lots of screws in cages with your babies. When I opened this toy, the first thing I opened was the battery compartment. THERE WERE STILL BATTERIES IN IT!!!!!! 😤🤬

After I got past that, I took out all the screws to open it up and the pictures display what I found. MOLDY BUILDUP AND GUNK! The screws were rusty, it smelled horrible, and there really is no way to properly clean this toy.

Please keep cleaning in mind when shopping for your baby toys.
You must take out any metal, batteries, or electric parts.
You must immobilize any moving parts.
You must cover any holes between .5 and 2.5 inches.

I know, I for one, would not want to put rust, mold, or battery acid in with my babies just for a cute toy.
