Redeemer Lutheran Church has embarked on a journey to bring an LCC Comfort Dog to the Spokane area. LCC Comfort Dog Ministry is based in Chicago, IL where they train golden retrievers for the first two years of their lives to comfort people in a multitude of situations. Comfort Dogs are commonly used in nursing homes, with special needs people, veterans and first responders. The opportunities are
endless! While our Comfort Dog would reside in Spokane, our mission is to make a positive difference in our community, nation and world. In the case of crisis or disaster situations (ie Las Vegas shootings) our Comfort Dog and handlers may be deployed to bring love, kindness and compassion anywhere in the USA. Bringing a Comfort Dog to Spokane is a huge investment, not only in money, but man power. Thanks to generous donations, we have put down a half of the cost as a deposit on a Comfort Dog. That means we are "expecting"! Now we work to grow our team of handlers, assistants, prayer warriors and the countless others vital to the success of the ministry. We will continue to fundraise so when the time comes that LCC Comfort Dog Ministry has a dog ready for us and our team is ready, we will pay the remainder of the cost. Then the handlers will jet off to Chicago to be trained and return with our Comfort Dog. Thanks for joining us on this exciting journey.
