Pooptopia is doing well. We did say goodbye to Ramood and Lela over the past week. We have so many old ones that it seems one passes each month. But that is why we continue. I could not stand the thought of them suffering because an owner couldn't afford elder care.

Please welcome RickyBobby (girl) and Logan W to the rescue. Owner unable to take with to rental. Happy we are here to help. They are about 4 years old and will be evaluated over the next couple weeks for adoptability.
Please note we ask not to consider getting ferrets as Christmas gifts. We will most likely keep adoptions open during the holidays but never as a gift to a new owner.

Ferrets abandoned outside --- Luckily someone kind found them on their walk next to the river by Felts Field (airport). They were left inside this backpack close to the road. All had escaped. I assume they were dumped this morning, Nov 2, as they were close to the carrier. I do not want to speak to the owners. They are now at our rescue and will receive care. No one should dump ferrets when a rescue is minutes from where they were dumped. Period.

Please welcome this 5 pack of fun. Owner's rental was sold without notice and they are scrambling to move out. Little sable Ari, chocolate sable Carot, little albino girl Winter, big albino boy Yost (was Ghost) and sable Dean.
We will be evaluating them over the coming weeks for health and temperament before considering any for adoption.

Please welcome Sly and Cosmo. Their owner needs to find new housing so they will stay with us for the time being.
We support those owners who have reached out before their ferrets are neglected. Those who find some place for them to go instead of leaving them behind.

Been a busy week cleanup after the huge Renaissance event. The kids are settling in for the winter.
DeDaenerys fits in well with the Pooptopia group and likes to look over the land.
Meepers is always wondering what I am doing.
Kishan and buddy Ramood have settled into Pooptopia also. They awake their owners apartment remodel to be completed.

Our Story

We are a nonprofit dedicated to the education of prospective owners and current owners of ferrets. We also rescue and work to rehabilitate behavioral and sick ferrets along with finding homes for unwanted or "kicked out of their homes" ferrets. We are considered a no-kill shelter as we do not put to sleep current residents to make room for more. We cannot save them all but for those that are terminal, we are able to provide a loving, safe, pain-free last days. Our group is still in the working on gathering members so please stand by as we are "under construction". We have ferrets available, ferrets in rehab and can discuss surrenders on a case-by-case basis. No surrender fee just the cage they were in (if not "free-range"), their bedding and what is left of their food. Some discussions can also be made about temporary housing/board until your situation improves. We welcome visitors just wanting to know more about these funny little creatures. Along with the ferrets we also have several different cage styles in our ferret room so that you can see what may work right for you. If we can just teach you how to find the right ferret and their proper care, that is one less ferret that has to end up in a rescue/shelter situation. If you would like to become part of our rescue network, just let us know. We can discuss possible foster homes and other ideas to help with our group.

We are currently located in Spokane Valley WA, but assist ferret owners anywhere in the Inland Northwest.

Note that because the rescue is inside my private home, you must call or text me at 509-599-3327, to come visit. I work during the week so weekends and federal holidays I am usually home. We look nothing like the local animal control or humane society. Our ferrets our housed as if they were my personal pets.
