A lot of times when a beak becomes overgrown it can develop cracks and chips. Oz here had a pretty big chip in his lower mandible that we were able to get almost completely resolved. With regular trims it will return to normal!

But his owner has a lot of birds and needs to down size.

Comfy sleeping spot! Tobi is missing a foot from a previous injury, so we make sure she has lots of spots to be able to rest and these cardboard perches have been her favorite!
As birds age they can get worn spots and even sores on their feet. So with Tobi being 55 years old the cardboard is a nice soft spot for her!

Thanksgiving meal for the birds!
I did a made up version of cranberry sauce… but did sweet potato, cranberries, parsley, and a little orange. Paired that with some spaghetti squash with coconut oil and cinnamon.
The birds were very quiet as soon as it was served 😂 I’ll consider that a success!

We see lots of different types of beaks! From those who have previous beak injuries like the pic below with Amy, to birds with excess growth or brittleness due to fatty diets.
It’s always a joy to be able to help reshape, and making eating/ daily activities easier for them!

Mr Moglie had such a wonderful field trip yesterday! He got great exposure to new areas, animals, people, and even got to test out some toys! His impeccable flying skills make it easy for us to burn off some extra energy! What adventures have you took your on bird recently?
