The holidays tend to coincide with a rise in emergency veterinary visits due to pets being fed unsafe human foods like fatty dishes, salty dishes, or anything made with known dog toxins.

Your pet’s health is important to us! Please be aware of the following ingredients when it comes to sharing holiday foods with your furry family member and be sure to dispose of any garbage or toxic foods your pet may have access to:
TOXIC FOODS:
- Fatty Foods (turkey skin, dark meat, gravy, stuffing, casseroles)
- Fish and poultry bones
- Grapes/Raisins/Currants
- Pitted Fruits, Citrus, Rhubarb
- Seasoned/Loaded Potatoes
- Onions/Garlic/Chives
- Yeast Products
- Raw Meat
- Nuts (macadamia, walnut, pecans) & Seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, fruit)
- Xylitol/Birch Sugar (gums, sweets, some peanut butter)
- Salty and/or Sugary foods (in large quantities)
- Coffee/Caffeine
- Chocolate
- Alcohol
Signs of toxicity may include vomiting, diarrhea, bloody or discolored stool, bloody urine, loss of appetite, pale or yellowish gums, lethargy and weakness, unsteady gait, seizures, tremors, hyperactivity, and more.

Did Riley become a superhero overnight? Why is his eye glowing?! (Riley, has always been super AND a hero.) We're using a special stain to identify an ulcer on his eye. It's the small cloudy circle in the middle of his cornea. While the ulcer can be very uncomfortable- the stain to diagnose it, is not. It helps his veterinary team visualize, measure and prepare a treatment plan for our brave superhero. Prompt treatment can help ensure these types of injury don't progress to a loss of vision.
