Interesting case alert!
When stopping to smell the roses goes wrong:
This black lab came in for sneezing after wandering through a field last week.
After sedation and intubation, one of our Dr's was able to remove a 2 inch long stick out of his nose. He will make a full recovery, and we are sure he will continue to enjoy his nose to the fullest!
2022 Great Horned Owl Release
Give a hoot about wildlife?
Hunter Veterinary Clinic does!
So we recently became the only place in the greater Spokane area licensed to accept and rehabilitate raptors (eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls) for release to the wild.
Background: We have been accepting wildlife for a couple months now from Good Samaritans such as our friends at @Spokane Audubon Society (if you find an injured raptor and need help transporting to our office, you can reach their bird rescue team at [email protected]).
This great horned owl sustained severe trauma, including damage to both eyes rendering him temporarily blind. With proper care and TLC from the staff and doctors at Hunter Veterinary Clinic, he was able to regain complete vision and heal from his internal injuries.
On September 24, 2022 he became our first successfully released patient since receiving our rehabilitation license.
We also currently have a bald eagle and red tailed hawk that are staying with us for longer term rehabilitation. To minimize their stress, they cannot be seen by the public, but don't forget to follow us for updates.
