SpokAnimal was incorporated in 1983 and we have recently been given the unique privilege to assist our placement partners in addressing the critical issues surrounding the pets in their care, whether that be overpopulation, illness, or special needs animals. Shelters and rescue groups work tirelessly to protect and save lives. With the support and encouragement of SpokAnimal and our Cruisin' Critt

ers Transport Program, the animals in their care are given a second chance. This is not just an idea, this is reality. At SpokAnimal, we are all about saving lives. We have done a great job the last 30 years in decreasing overpopulation, increasing our ability and commitment to spay/neuter, providing education to school children and groups, and hosting superb training for animal welfare workers, volunteers and the general public. As we move forward and transition to the new and improved SpokAnimal model, while all of these things remain important to us, our focus will be on saving even more lives through our partnerships. It is our intent to visit partner agencies throughout Washington and the surrounding states and pick up animals in need of a new home, spay or neuter them at SpokAnimal's veterinary clinic, the Dorothy Clark Animal Center, then offer them for adoption to loving homes. This enables animal control, humane societies, and rescue facilities to have room for the endless stream of homeless pets and allows us to offer a happy ending for the pets in our care.

Meet Ricky, the shy 2 year old male orange tabby. Ricky is a calm and chill kitty who spends his day relaxed in a corner of his condo, watching out his window to know what goes on. Ricky was an owner-surrender to no fault of his own. He has begun his search for a forever home where he can watch the comings and goings in his favorite relaxed stance.

Dennis (bonded)
This is Dennis and he is part of a bonded pair of male cats. Dennis is more independent than his other half, but still enjoys human and cat company. He'll let you know when he's ready for love, but enjoys a warm spot to sleep and a laser to chase. His other half is Rick. They currently use the Litter Robot 4, which I will include. They both eat Purina One Tender Selects Blend, no preference for chicken or tuna. Dennis will do well with other cats and dogs, but will absolutely thrive if kept with his bonded half, Rick.

Rick (bonded)
This is Rick and he is part of a bonded pair of male cats. He loves to cuddle and is very friendly. He enjoys a warm blanket and bed and the occasional lap to sleep on. He and his bonded pair, Dennis, use the Litter Robot 4, which I will include. He eats Purina One Tender Selects Blend, tuna or chicken. He does not want to go outside much but enjoys looking out to the world. He does well with dogs and other cats, but needs to be with his bonded half, Dennis, in order to thrive.

HOME TO HOME!!
Moto
Moto is a big Boston Terrier, weighing about 30 pounds. He is a good boy who LOVES playing tug of war, going on walks, playing with kids and napping on your legs. Moto loves to be with his people and cuddling. He has been very patient with our kids chasing and roughhousing with him. He has shown some aggression toward neighborhood dogs.

He is extremely food motivated which has caused some issues with his food allergies as our 2 year old loves to feed him and/or yell at him to go away. Moto has significant allergies, we had him tested and his biggest allergies are beef, storage mites and dust mites. I feel like we have found a good combination of food and medication that works well for him but he will require higher costs and maintenance due to his allergies.

We are not able to engage with him as much as he needs, he gets bored and claws at furniture and gets into the trash. An ideal home would have older kids (5 and up), be active, and at home frequently. His new home needs to be able to support his medical needs. He will come with toys, kennel, food, dishes, medication, and his beds.

Pumpkin
Pumpkin is a super sweet, fluffy guy who gets along with other cats, dogs, kids and even chickens. He is mostly an indoor cat but he likes to go outside occasionally to soak of the sun and climb some trees. He loves being cuddled and held; he purrs very loudly. His weakness is chips, everytime there's a bag of chips around he'll be at your feet hoping to get the crumbs! He is neutered and vaccinated and microchipped. I hate having to give him up, but my husband's allergies are just too much and Pumpkin is too social to be an outdoor cat, so I would feel very sad trying to force him to be outside. Even though he does good in family settings, he would do really well in a quiet home or a home with older kids. Some kids just don't know how to be gentle and because Pumpkin is so nice, he would let them pack him around everywhere and I don't want him to be stressed like that. If you're looking for a really good companion cat that will be your best friend, he is your guy. Please contact for more info.

HOME TO HOME!!
Longshanks
Longshanks is a female cat who was adopted from a shelter. She currently lives in household with one other cat and two dogs. She is great with the other animals as well as with people. Longshanks has a great demeanor and loves affection. She would do best in a household without a ton of activity (we have two children) and stability. She occassionally will not use her litter box on those ocassions where the family is just coming back from a weekend getaway or something has happened that is against the normal routine. I think it's a nerve/anxiety issue and may have to do with fear from our other cat, but it's hard to say. The issue rarely happens, but it has happened enough that we no longer feel like we can keep her.

Nala
This is Nala! She is a Lab mixed with Border Collie. She loves to be outside and go for walks. She's very active and very cuddly. She likes to talk and enjoys the company of other dogs. She loves squeaky toys and wearing bandannas.

Harley is a beautiful and loving Border Collie mix (she's the white and black one). She is amazing with kids and other dogs. I hate to re home her, but I've been working out of town so much that I just don't have the time to spend with her.

Goblin is a two year old kitty who likes to keep to herself. She's very clean and soft. She doesn't love to be held or touched but she will hang out in the same area as you and keep you company. She would do best with no other animals.
