SpokAnimal was incorporated in 1983 and we have recently been given the unique privilege to assist our placement partners in addressing the critical issues surrounding the pets in their care, whether that be overpopulation, illness, or special needs animals. Shelters and rescue groups work tirelessly to protect and save lives. With the support and encouragement of SpokAnimal and our Cruisin' Critt

ers Transport Program, the animals in their care are given a second chance. At SpokAnimal, we are all about saving lives. We have done a great job the last 30 years in decreasing overpopulation, increasing our ability and commitment to spay/neuter, providing education to school children and groups, and hosting superb training for animal welfare workers, volunteers and the general public. As we move forward and transition to the new and improved SpokAnimal model, while all of these things remain important to us, our focus will be on saving even more lives through our partnerships. It is our intent to visit partner agencies throughout Washington and the surrounding states and pick up animals in need of a new home, spay or neuter them at SpokAnimal's veterinary clinic, the Dorothy Clark Animal Center, then offer them for adoption to loving homes. This enables animal control, humane societies, and rescue facilities to have room for the endless stream of homeless pets and allows us to offer a happy ending for the pets in our care.

🎄✨NYQUIL AND MOTRIN ARE GOING OFFSITE TODAY!✨🎄

These little elves are heading to PetSmart on the South Hill (4919 S Regal St) and will be there from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

Nyquil is a black and white Chihuahua, only 5 months old, and she is the sweetest thing! She's a bit shy at first, but once she's comfortable, she loves to give kisses and snuggles!💕 She's the perfect companion to snuggle up with while you watch a fun movie!🍿

Motrin is a brown and tan Chihuahua, only 5 months old, and he is so precious! Like his sister, he is also shy, but once he realizes you just want to love on him, he can't help but reciprocate it!💕🐾

Nyquil and Motrin came to us from California on 11/18, and as soon as they arrived, they've been little angels! They are the sweetest things who can't wait to find their forever home(s).

Their adoption fee of $350 each helps cover everything they need to get their new life started — their spay and neuter, their first vaccines, their microchips, dewormers, and even a free wellness exam through the VCA.

Although they're small, they are full of love and can't help but show it! They're ready to find a home where they can be the playful, sweet, loyal, and give you lots and lots of cuddles! 🥰 If you're looking for a little helper this holiday season, come on down and meet these bundles of joy!🎄✨🐾

It is Wednesday, 11/26, probably the busiest cooking day of the year getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner on 11/27. HOME TO HOME!!
Dagger
Dagger is very energetic! He does well with other dogs and cats. He loves to play and knows basic commands. He isn't noisy and only barks to alert you that someone is at the door. Dagger is leashed trained but could use more work with heeling as he does like to pull sometimes. He would do great with a yard, but also does good in apartment life as long as your active with him. He doesn't realize how big he is and would do better in an older kid home as he will run over smaller children.

Gabby
Gabby has a good spirit, she is a big lover, and she loves to cuddle. She is big on attention and thrives on positive interactions. She has a high food drive which makes her ideal for training and she presents herself as a very inquisitive dog. She needs to be in a loving home where she can be cared for, loved, and trained properly. She has not yet been spayed or microchipped, but she has had her first two sets of shots and dewormer.

HOME TO HOME!!
Iron
Meet Iron — a 9-month-old bundle of joy with a big heart and even bigger zoomies.

Iron is the kind of puppy who greets every day like it’s the best day of his life. He’s sweet, goofy, and endlessly curious. He’s also very energetic—like, “I just learned what legs are and I’m going to use all four at top speed” energetic. He needs someone who sees that spark in him and says, “Yep, that’s my boy.”

My bestfriend and I took Iron in and gave him all the love we could, but he needs more time, structure, and training than we're able to provide. We've made the loving choice to help him find a home where he can truly thrive.

Iron is looking for a special someone with patience, consistency, and a nurturing heart. Someone who doesn’t just want a puppy—they want a project, a partner, and a shadow who will follow them room to room. Someone who sees his wild puppy energy not as a problem, but as potential.

If you’re the kind of person who loves long walks, belly rubs, silly antics, and watching a good boy grow into his best self, Iron is ready to love you right back.

He has so much sweetness in him....he just needs the right person to bring it out. Could that be you?

Needs: a home with a yard, being able to run around and play as much as he'd like

Commands he knows: Crate, Sit, Wait, Shake, High five (pretty proud of that one) , Lay down, Off

Behavior issues: He's not fully crate trained; he's pretty afraid of being in the crate while we're still up and doing things. He needs someone who has the patience to work on it with him. He has severe separation anxiety.

Health : He's up to date on all shots and he has an appointment to be neutered December 17th.

Behavior perks/quirks: He loves to cuddle, and he loves to take your warm comfy spot in bed if you get up for .2 seconds. He will easily become your cuddly lovebug of a friend.

HOME TO HOME!!
Moose
Moose is a smart, energetic, and happy dog. He LOVES to run and is an excellent adventure companion. He has gone hiking, snow shoeing, and camping with us. He even climbed part of the way up Mt. St. Helens! Moose has almost boundless energy. This was great when I had more time to spend with him, but recent changes to my job means he spends more time in the house and the crate. He could really use someone with an active lifestyle and a big yard.

Moose would thrive in an household where someone has the time to play, run, and adventure with him. Moose listens to commands and when I'm consistent with training he learns things really fast. He is crate trained and potty trained. He initially got along well with my other dogs, but lately he's been resource-guarding and being very defensive. This las led to a couple fights with my other male dogs and I'm afraid they will really hurt each other if things escalate. He's happiest when he has our full attention and I think he'd be best as the only pet or at least the only dog.

Give Moose a good sized yard, plenty of exercise, and he will be happy and love you forever.

sasha
Sasha is a beautiful family dog who loves to play fetch and chase birds. She loves being outdoors and being thrown sticks. She thrives with land to run on. She needs patience with other animals, like cats. Sasha is house trained and kennel trained. She needs a fenced area as she is not used to leashes.

HOME TO HOME!!
Bear
Bear is a dog's dog. He loves dogs and children. He is shy, humble, and sweet. Bears favorite thing to do is be outside playing with other dogs or the kids. He goes outside and plays, comes in, eats, sleeps, then goes back outside to play some more. He is housetrained and knows sit, stay, and kennel. Bear would thrive in a home with someone who could spend a lot of time building his confidence. He has a tendency to be naturally timid with adults. He would do well in a home where someone was home with him regularly as he does get a bit of separation anxiety because he's never been alone long. He doesn't like car rides and he sucks at walking on a leash; he is a major homebody. He is neutered and up to date on shots.

It's Just One Week Until Giving Tuesday! 🎉

On Tuesday, December 2, nonprofits around the world will be fundraising for Giving Tuesday. You can help right here in your backyard by supporting SpokAnimal.

Every day, pets arrive scared, hungry or alone. Thanks to supporters like you, we get to say YES to pets like Slayter (adopted yesterday) when it matters most.

Our end-of-year fundraising goal is $100,000 – and with your help on Giving Tuesday, we can be off to a great start!

Please consider SpokAnimal in your charitable giving from now through the end of December. Every single dollar makes a difference. We've put a direct link to donate in the comments below. Thank you for helping us say YES this holiday season and year-round!
