🌟 It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week! 🌟

We know our amazing volunteers give a lot of their free time, but we were still blown away when we crunched the numbers. When we tallied all the hours they’ve given to SpokAnimal, it added up to more than 10 years!!! 🤯💛

That's over a decade of walking dogs, cleaning kennels, folding laundry, sharing love and saving lives.

These selfless individuals help us say yes every single day to people and pets who need us.

From our incredible Dogs Playing For Life crew who show up rain or shine to walk and enrich our shelter pups, to the dedicated seniors behind the scenes keeping everything clean and cozy – we see you, we appreciate you and we absolutely couldn’t do this without you!

On Tuesday, 4/22 at PETSMART SOUTH HILL from 1 PM to 4 PM, we have 1 puppy, 2 kittens, and 7 adults cats all ready for their new, forever, homes and ready for adoption. Puppy will be on KREM 2 News, Pick of the Litter at NOON - arrives at Petsmart South Hill with the Spokanimal Associate around 12:30 PM. Meet ✨Chino✨ - this 2 year old boy is sweet as can be! Everyone who meets him instantly falls in love with his kind and lovey demeanor. I have truly never met a cat so outgoing and sweet right off the bat, he is so special 🩵 He LOVES attention and is so happy in your lap. He goes crazy for belly rubs and does the cutest things to get your attention!

Chino is FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) positive. This means that he has a weakened immune system and his body has a harder time fighting infections. It may sound scary, but with the proper care, cats like Chino can live long and happy lives just like any other cat!

Although Chino wouldn’t hurt a fly, he MUST be an only cat and indoor only!!! This is due to the fact that FIV is transmitted primarily through deep bite wounds from an infected cat. So as a precaution, he has to be the only kitty! (Humans and other types of animals cannot get FIV, so dogs are fine and he would love a friend!!)

Hello everyone, meet Tony Stark!
Tony is a 3 year old MALE who is very special ! He is microchipped, dewormed, all vaccines up to date!
Tony has been waiting soooo long in the shelter setting he deserves a home as soon as we find his people.
Tony was originally brought in with his brother, from Merced, who was sent out for adoption not long after they arrived while we figured spicy Tony out. At first he was very hissy and growly and wouldnt let many people touch him. After his brother left for adoption he started to come out of his shell quite a bit ! He started showing signs that he didn’t want or need to be a barn kitty and slowly started letting people pet him and come up to him. He still has his adorable hissy side when he’s overwhelmed but if he likes you he is very sweet !! He LOVES cheek scratches and chin scratches, b***y scratches are a must once he thinks you arent a bad person.
He definitely chooses his people.

Thirteen (or as we lovingly call her, Teenie-Bopper or Teenie Tiny) is a stunning 7-year-old tortoiseshell with a big personality and a whole lot of love to give—on her terms, of course. She adores being around her people but isn’t shy about setting boundaries. If you try to pet her when she’s not in the mood, she’ll let you know with a polite (or not-so-polite) growl and a swat. But when she is in the mood? She’ll press her head against your forehead or chin—her special way of saying, “You’re my person.”
Thirteen isn’t a fan of other cats or dogs, so she’s looking for a home where she can be the one and only.
