Cattle are sorted, calves are sorted, yearling heifers are sorted....now where do we put them all. Lol There are some days where sorting can be a drag, like during breeding they're all turned up a notch. Then there are times that it's a breeze, like today. Everyone was working with us, it was quiet, and only a couple knuckleheads had to be resorted after slipping into the wrong pen. These are great days, and ones that I'm thankful for.

Christmas came early! is a new venture from Chef Justin Domsch. Huge thank you to !! I put the beanies to the test today, 4 hours in 3⁰F sorting beef. Ears never got cold, the chrome dome stayed warm 🤙 and looked great the whole time! Love what you're doing man!! EVERYONE please show him some love and do some Christmas shopping on his page. (I was not paid for this, I just purchased & liked it.) Going to put the windbreaker through its paces tomorrow and Thursday when we sort cattle and ultrasound for pregnancies.

Love this herd. 10 years rebuilding from scratch with Papa, and Brian. We've been lucky to have great veterinarians involved like Dr. Randy Scott, and Dr. Dean Koesel (who successfully transferred some of the oldest frozen embryos of any species for us - frozen for 40 years). I often sit back and marvel at the accomplishment of just creating this group of animals. I look forward to sitting back in another 9 years to reflect on the growth of Manzo, especially when so much has been packed into the first year. Hats off to everyone that has contributed to this journey. Countless conversations have been the lifeblood of this endeavor, and I'm eternally grateful for each and every one. To learn from each other, make connections and introductions, and the willingness to take a leap of faith to try something new...this is what makes work so much fun, that it's not work. I get to talk to friends, and collaborate on new ideas. I suppose this turned into a long winded thank you to everyone that has come along for this wild journey with Owens Farms, and Manzo. 🤙

Energetic calves in gen pop. After a few days to a week in the nurseries, pairs come to this barn for a week or two then head out to pasture.

Just a quick spin around the pasture, checking on the April calving groups

While talking cattle with Harold the other night, he brought up the possibility of swimming with manta rays. Well, last night we hung with the mantas! Truly in your face action, awesome experience. Here's a quick edit, but I'll put a longer video on our IGTV.

Ahh the good ol' days, maybe 2010. My buddy, and best man at my wedding, Oscar. I honestly forget the story behind why we were moving the bale in the first place. However, I clearly remember Oscar bragging about his Latin hips. So, of course, being the rational adult collegiate men that we were.....we had him prove.....something 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️😂🤣

This was one well oiled food distribution machine! Props to all the volunteers, and a huge shout out to our volunteers in uniform! Thank you for your service to our country!

Will & @runderhill are naturals! We threw them in sorting and moving 150 cows and calves.
