HILL Country Equine Rescue, Inc

HILL Country Equine Rescue, Inc As of 6/6/2023 we are closed. We will NOT be taking in anymore and our journey is done. We will be wo We also do kill pen rescues, mostly being Arabians horses.

Permanently closed.

I started rescuing horses many, many, years ago but have been working, training, and been involved with Arabians since I was 10. I love the work and love watching the transformations of the rescue horses, whether they need weight, or watching them come alive out of a bad depressed state. I have noticed that over the last 4 yrs from 2013 to current that I've managed to take in more owner surrenders

than anything and I enjoy helping people out. Sometimes people just can't afford them anymore but sometimes, they just want a safe haven for their horse, and to know that their horse will never end up in a slaughter situation. That's the business I've built by getting responsible adopters. I’m not sure to date how many we have rescued.

Our Story

started rescuing horses many years ago, but have been working and training and been involved with Arabians since i was 10. I love the work and watching the transformations of the rescue horses, weather they need weight or watching them come alive out of a bad depressed state. I have noticed that since 2013 to current that I've managed to take in more owner surrenders than anything and i enjoy helping people out when there option is not taking them to the auction. I used to run the rescuer out of my pocket but came into some very serious debt that has really effected my family so now that we are non-profit i will not be taking money out of my pocket. My Contribute to this rescue is feeding twice a day, cleaning up after them, going to get there hay and grain , blanketing, bathing, grooming working with them, fund raising and advertising when they are ready for adoption, holding them for farriers and taking them to the vet if needed. We are strictly ran off of sponsor and donations and with that ill constantly be asking for funding as long as there are equines here. When an adoption happens its a great thing as it gives us funds for what they need and i dont have to ask for donations and that makes me very happy. Its going to take time to get this all going and i know that. We adopt equines out between $400-$1500.00, but will never adopt anything out for more. In most cases they are under 1k. Thank you all for your support and trust in what i do and have been doing for many years.KIM
