In the UK they have a very prestigious award given to the owner and their farrier for best shod horse of the show.
I think that’s really cool.
It’s a class you can enter and your farrier has time to set your horse up to win that class in advance.

For my followers that don’t have me as your farrier; do you think your horses feet would win?

Seems like every 10 years or so a new group of “trimmers” emerge from their weekend long training courses.
Along with them comes the “new idea” of synthetic shoes.

Well professional farriers have been using “not metallic horseshoes” since 1890.

Yet. 99.99999% of all horses shod today are in steel or aluminum.

Almost like we tried synthetics in the past. They failed. 99.9999% of the time.

Don’t be fooled by bright colored plastic horseshoes.
