‘Fundulus chrysotus’ AKA Golden Top Minnow, they are a native fish species here in Florida. I have probably 50+ and I started out with 10-25 adults/juveniles. I have them spread across different tanks in the fish room. I have some in with my rams, I have them in outside tubs/tanks. They are easily one of my favorite native fish. This big boy I caught in June 2023 (Weeki Wachee Location), he is probably double the size now. One of the biggest things I have learned with them, is if they aren’t accepting flake food after you catch them you want to put in another Goldentop minnow that is used to it already and they will start eating the flake foood as they see the other one eating it, now that doesn’t work all the time, but when it does it definitely makes it easier when acclimating them to captivity.
