And then there’s Salem. She is only concerned with one thing and that’s food! She was here for the cheese and not the ultrasound or photos, so this is the best I got. Again, I unfortunately didn’t see any puppies, but I am still not convinced. Maybe I’m in denial and she’s just chubby, but we will find out for sure by visiting our vet for an X-ray in about 2 weeks. 🤞

Well, it’s Prada’s turn to share her news! She is in fact pregnant! I saw many puppies in just one frame which tells me she is going to have a nice sized litter. We do have availability on our waiting list for both fox red and yellow!

We have some exciting updates on our girls! Our ultrasound machine hasn’t been cooperating and we likely need a new probe, but I was able to confirm 2 of the 3 we checked are in fact pregnant!

Pucker - She is FINALLY expecting! After several failed attempts we are ecstatic! I only saw a couple, but again my machine isn’t working to its full potential. This will be an all black litter due January 26th!

Salem - Salem has a bit of the thick girl gene and a very thick coat. She also did not want to cooperate. I did not see any babies, but her belly tells me that maybe I missed something. I’m not counting her out just yet. If she were to be pregnant it would be a black and chocolate litter due at the end of January.

Harbor - She is pregnant! Her belly already feels and looks very full and she’s not quite half way along. I’m expecting a decent sized litter of black and chocolate pups the first week of February.

We will be scanning Prada within the next week, but she appears to be pregnant as well. Nothing has been confirmed just yet. I’ll be taking a very much needed week off of work to attend to the girls throughout whelping.

And that’s a wrap! All of our breedings are done for Winter/Spring so now we sit back and try to relax for the next 3-4 weeks. At that time we’ll perform ultrasounds on our girls in the comfort of our home and hopefully have exciting news to share between Christmas and the New Year! 🤞

Edited to add that Prada will be due February 4th! That is the same day as her litter from 2024!

And last, but not least, Prada will be ready to be bred on Friday. She has taken her sweet time and even declined a pup cup after her visit today. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Apparently an iced caramel macchiato was what she had her mind set on! She will be bred to Victor the male we imported from Ukraine for an all yellow/fox red litter. 💛

Harbor was bred yesterday to Bentley and is enjoying a little R&R. We’re hoping for some beautiful chocolate and black pups from their pairing in late January or early February.

Fun fact…Harbor was last bred Dec 2, 2023 so only one day later this year. Maybe her babies will share a birthday? 🤔

Prada is back to the repro specialist today to see if it’s almost her turn! 🤞

Today it was this beauty’s turn. We braved the slick roads and visited our reproductive specialist. Salem was bred to a gorgeous chocolate male named Austin. Fingers crossed we’ll see some black and chocolate babies in late January or early February! 🖤🤎

I was hopeful we were exempt from what I’ve recently seen many of my friends going through, but as luck would have it that’s not the case. There is a possibility our posts and even our page could be deleted, but we can be found on Google if that’s the case. I cannot say much more, but the attached picture will explain what we’re up against.

***UPDATE***

After our appointment today and much debate we’ve decided we will be breeding Harbor, Salem, Pucker, and Prada. Keeping in mind that each female/male pairing can only produce certain colors based on genetics, and after reviewing our waitlists, we realized it’s the only way to insure we’re able to produce the colors and genders requested (especially for those families that have been waiting 6+ months for news that puppies are on the way).

Generally we would not breed 4 litters at once, but Pucker has never been pregnant and has been bred 3 times. Harbor’s last litter was a small litter of 5, and Prada is the only female capable of producing fox red. While we are hopeful for each for various reasons, we’re also realistic that sometimes we can only do so much planning and nature decides the rest.

While we’re very experienced in raising pups and have a good amount of hands on deck we’ve also secured additional help during this time as it’s truly a 24/7 job. If all breedings are successful we will definitely open up additional places on our waitlist. We will perform an ultrasound on each female approximately 28 days after breeding to confirm.

Below are our planned breedings with pups expected in late January and early February. They will be ready for their new homes in late March and early April.

These litters will ABSOLUTELY be our only pups until next fall at the soonest. If you’re on the fence please reach out and I’ll place you on our reserve list in the event we have additional pups available.

If you’ve previously asked to be placed on our list and plans have changed please let us know so we can move to the next in line.

Pucker x Bentley - All black litter. (Due Jan 29th)
Salem x Atlas - Black & Chocolate (Due Jan 31st)
Harbor x Bentley - Black & Chocolate (early Feb)
Prada x Victor - Yellow (yellow to fox red) (early Feb)

Lastly, please understand the time and money invested in each and every puppy (and litters that are unsuccessful). We do our best to keep families updated, but we have a family and careers as well. Thankfully our schedules allow us to do what we love! We are prepared to eat, sleep, and breathe dogs and puppies for a minimum of 10 weeks. Ready, set, go! It’s finally puppy time! 💛🖤🤎

Well, as luck would have it, a little family vacation (finally) is all it took to kick our ladies into high gear! Salem, Prada, and Harbor are all in heat as well and will visit our reproductive specialist tomorrow. We will make the decision after that visit on who will be bred, but it’s safe to say our winter will be a busy one! Puppies will be expected in late January and will be ready to meet their new families at the end of March!

🎉 Update 🎉

Pucker’s progesterone was at 1.9 today which is AMAZING news! We have plenty of time to continue to test her progesterone and pin down the ideal time for breeding. We have decided to pair her with Bentley, a past pup of ours from our female Dyess. I’ve included his photo in the comments. This will be an all black litter likely due in late January. 🖤

We FINALLY have a girl in heat! Unfortunately we were out of town last week, so I’m not certain just how far she is into her cycle. Pucker will be getting her progesterone tested in the morning and we are hoping and praying we aren’t too late! Once we receive her results we will share our breeding plans for her!
