The garden is a living, breathing entity that uses dedicated hearts and helping hands to grow and flourish. The Garden offers raised garden bed membership opportunities. Individual gardeners get a chance to grow some of their own vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers. Gardeners gain a sense of community through weekly educational workshops and events. Children get an opportunity to see where their

food comes from, learn how things grow, how to care for plants and gain a sense of achievement in growing their own food.

🌱 Strawberry Stacker Update! 🍓 🌱

We are excited to share that we’ve made more progress on our Strawberry Stacker Remodel project at Om Grown Community Garden! After a brief pause due to the storm, we’re back on track, and several more rows of stacker pots have been installed. Next steps? Routing the irrigation system directly to each stack to ensure efficient watering. 🌿

🌱 Plant Pot Donations Needed! 🌱

Om Grown Community Garden is in need of plant pots to help us prepare seedlings for their next stage of growth! We're specifically looking for 4" to 6" pots, which will be used to upgrade our seedlings as they grow, preparing them for planting in our raised garden beds or to be used in our nursery.

We’ve placed a plant pot donation bin in the parking area of our campus. You can drive right up and drop off your pots at your convenience!

If you have any spare pots (even gently used ones), we'd love your donations! Every pot helps our community garden grow, and we appreciate any support you can provide. 🙏🌿

Thank you for supporting your local garden! 💚

Exciting News from the Garden! 🌱🌿

We’ve just spotted a few late season Japanese winged beans in our garden! These incredible beans are not only easy to grow in our area but are also a versatile and nutritious plant as well

Why should you consider growing winged beans in your garden? Here are a few great reasons:

🌾 Perfect for Our Climate: Winged beans love the warm, humid weather we have in Florida. They’re easy to grow and produce abundantly in our region.

💪 Nutritional Powerhouse: Almost every part of the winged bean is edible! The pods, leaves, seeds, and even the roots are packed with protein, essential vitamins like Vitamin A and C, iron, calcium, and dietary fiber.

🌱 Sustainable Growing: These beans are nitrogen-fixing, which means they help enrich the soil naturally, making them a great addition to any garden that values sustainability.

🥗 Delicious in the Kitchen: Whether you stir-fry the tender pods, add the leaves to a salad, or roast the seeds for a snack, winged beans are as tasty as they are healthy.

If you haven’t tried growing winged beans yet, now’s the time to start! They’re perfect for providing fresh, nutritious food right from your garden. Be sure to stop by and check them out during your next visit to Om Grown Community Garden.

Have you grown winged beans before? Let us know your experience in the comments!
