Pong had her last check up last week, and was told she could Drop her e-collar this week!
The damage she had was to her 3rd eyelid and although it may never be perfect, it healed the best it could and she will have no compromise to her sight !
You go, Pong Girl!
Now all we have to do is find you a forever family!
We are going to miss Meatball so much!
This is One of my favorite videos of our Meatball, EVER! Playing hide and seek on surveillance
We have to make a hard decision about Meatball and it is breaking my heart.
He has had several surgeries over the years for skin cancer.
He had surgery in April for a preputial mass, that has returned.
We took him to Fetch last week in Brandon and they are willing to do another surgery on him.
It will buy him some good time.
But after spending $1,000 on consult and diagnostics that day, it will still cost more than we could ever raise. ($4,800)
The rescue itself is struggling, so there are no funds for this.
He is still strong, sturdy, and stubborn.
But this mass is taking it's toll and he won't have much time left.
Meatball is an icon to the thousands of people that know him.
He has been my literal sidekick and personal protector in building PAW Warriors rescue over the past 10 years, and has been thru SO MUCH.
He has had to settle for "less" all these years as he gave his life to saving and.protecting countless lives from predators.
He can look intimidating with his MEAThead and strong stature... But being the carefree goofBALL that he is, Meatball instantly charms every person he meets.(hence the name meat-ball)
We just lost the other love of our lives, his constant companion of 12 years, Wiggle-but, last month.
I have personally been hit hard with compassion fatigue and had to take hiatus from the rescue, and haven't been as present for Meatball as he needed me to be during that loss and since his surgery.
Although all these years, Meatball never complained about so many others care taking precedence over him, he needed us NOW, but we just can't do this.
Meatball would like to see anyone and everyone that would want to take the time to come and see him !
Just send message ahead of time !
What an amazing life he has given us !
We weathered the storm pretty well on Sunday! It could have been devastating!
In all honesty, the relentless heat and rain this summer has taken it's toll on the rescue grounds even BEFORE this storm.
We have had less manpower to help than EVER BEFORE, and we REALLY NEED SOME PHYSICAL HELP TO GET THINGS BACK UP TO PAR!
The cats lives are always priority, and THEY have been, and always will be cared for. But their living areas are quickly deteriorating because each of us can only do so much.
If anyone would like to possibly come and lend a hand, please send a message.
With our outside enclosures being open to the elements, here is a general list that we need help with :
A lot of tarps, cushions, um trllas and furniture need to be bleached and washed or replaced
The small houses and shelters need to be cleared out, debugged, and washed
Walkways and pavered areas need to be cleared and cleaned
Tree debris needs to be picked up from the storm
The large fallen tree that came down in the courtyard back in April and took out the roof of a building , was cut up and a lot of it cleared, but a lot of cut pieces remain in place and need to be removed.
Our old laundry and supply shed is still standing with the roof caving in and is dangerous. This needs to be taken down (and someday hopefully replaced)
Weed eating and trimming and mowing always need to be done .
....
If any person or group, would be able to come lend a hand in helping us get our the cleaned up, safe, and back up to par , please send us message on availability and what you can help with
We would so appreciate any efforts, and the cats definitely would be thankful for safest cleanest areas .. and your attention while here !
Thank you!
FOR ANYONE PLANNING TO DUMP KITTIES ON OUR PROPERTY , you are serving them a horrific death sentence ... So just DONT!
Why in the world would someone do this ?
This person parked by a shed, got out of his car and immediately walked to our pod gates with a box.
He took video with his phone, OPENED the gate to enclosure, cracked the box open and swished the kitten out.
Jonathan caught him as he headed back to the car, and Cory came out and confronted him.
They all saw the kitten squeeze thru the fence and run off to the predator filled woods beyond our property.
We set traps, but haven't seen it since.
And this was hours before the torrential storm as well.
We have found more cats on our property than ever before , and we know it's because of people just like this !
This persons information has been reported to the police for animal abandonment and I surely hope he is caught and charged !
We lost our original K9 warrior ....
For the past 14.5 years, Wiggle Butt had been at my side and feet as
My protector, my comic relief, my Dæmon, my rock, my absolute love, my a Wiggle Butt
The anticipation of this day, was one of the factors that recently "broke me" down to point of no return.
In the moments of my deepest heartache and sadness, when the most beautiful sign appeared in the sky, assuring me that it was her time and everything would be ok ....
I apologize for me being a hot mess and the emotional post, but I had to share the miraculous message that came from above .....
"so THIS is what it feels like to run, jump, climb, and scratch on a post?
"LOOK AT ME GO!
I get to be a true CAT! "
,......
Valentines 14 month struggle ....
All led up to one of the most miraculous moments I've ever had the privilege of witnessing in my world of rescue.
She was thanking us all for not giving up, for figuring it out, for taking away the pain that crippled her every moment, and for giving her the gift of love and allowing her a pain free, carefree, life of a cat that she never thought possible!
She is telling ALL OF US
THANK YOU!
TINY ATARI
Prayers and good vibes needed for this little polydactyl kitten with one of the most beautiful souls I've ever had privilege of loving !
Every gamer wishes they had extra Thumbs, right ?
Hence his name!
With His brother, Nintendo, being twice his weight, Tiny Atari is considered to be a "failure to thrive" kitten.
What he is lacking in size, he makes up for in cuteness and love !
We are giving him the nutrition, care and love the he needs. I just hope he makes it !
Krinkles has a friend. Our volunteer, Jonathan, used food and a glove, plus lots of courage to bond with Krinkles. Drina took this video while Krinkles is hand fed his breakfast. He's looking better all the time. Enjoy.
An update on Pong!
She saw the vet today and we have an extensive road to recovery but we are going to do everything we can! Thank you to everyone that donated and shared her post!🐾💖
Update on Bravo for those who have been asking. We are thrilled Bravo is doing so much better!! Amazing and thankful!!
Arabella started breathing heavily this morning. Thankfully the vet came at 1 and shes being seen now. Originally only 6 cats were scheduled to be seen but in rescue we are constantly dealing with unexpected emergencies. Please send Arabella well wishes!
UPDATE: We regret to inform everyone that sweet Arabella has crossed the rainbow bridge and is reunited with her brother. 😢🌈 She received an x-ray and ultrasound. We learned her heart and lungs were completely surrounded with fluid and that her heart valves were enlarged and abnormal. She was perfectly fine 24hrs ago so we are all shocked and devastated. Thank you everyone for the well wishes and prayers.

KRINKLES update:
Better then we expected , and exactly what we hoped for !!
--------
Living on the streets as a wandering tomcat with constant struggles to find basic food, water, shelter, and safety is bad enough. Having to constantly battle predators, parasites, humans, and other tomcats, along with enduring the elements and hatred, every single day makes for a cruel life.
But thank God for those that DID CARE ABOUT HIM over the years, And especially for the family that insisted and persisted ( for 3 years !) on getting him caught and cared for!
For a kitty that has 10 years of cruel life behind him, all we wanted to do is give Krinkles a chance to live easy for the rest of his days out in the country air, being safe, cared for, catered to, and adored.
Even after a much needed bath, debugging and treatment, Krinkles fell under the spell of battle fatigue, and has spent the past 10 days just sleeping, eating, and trying to keep up his fight for life.
In the time that he has been here, we learned that under the mirage of this tough tom cat face , there is worn out body riddled with the effects of a decades worth of hardship, dehydration, battle wounds, and being eaten alive by parasites, and a tired soul. He is deaf, has a mouth full of infection and his body is painful.
The next step was to get him to the vet to find out the extent of the toll that life has taken on him.
He is so damaged!
The last thing we would want is to prolong his suffering.
When leaving the property for his vet visit, We knew that it was a possibility that he would not be coming back home with us.
.....
I am happy to report that
TODAY WAS NOT THAT DAY!
He is back at the rescue, resting more comfortably then ever ...
But he has some healing work to do
He has :
FIV
a bullet in his sternum
Previous rib fractures
Arthritis in his back
Infected mouth
Infected ears
Anemia
Stage 2 kidney disease
But ... WHAT HE ALSO HAS :
His heart is strong
His lung
Update : Bucket Kitten
This babys temperature was 108* when we found him!
108*!
So... THIS HAPPENED !
please excuse my language, but SERIOUSLY?
This kitten had a temp of 108'!
Thank God he was found when we did, but there is no guarantee this baby is going to make it !
We WILL be pursuing consequence for the person today and anyone in future that has the cowardess to place a little life in a closed bucket, put it in the sun, and leave it to be condemned to suffer as it is baked alive.
Krinkles upon arrival:
