Sometimes, when it feels that you are helpless and there is nothing you can do, it's helpful to remember . . . there is almost always something you can do.

Dr. Moore's family has donated to Pasadena Humane Society and there are also many other worthy organizations.

If you would like to help as well, we will gather donations until Friday, January 17, research where the donations might most be needed and keep you apprised.

If it helps you gain a moment of comfort for the lives of animals which have sadly been lost consider this: the Rev Dan Anderson of Spring Lake once asked Dr. Moore if he thought there were animals in heaven. Dr. Moore replied:

"Dan. It wouldn't be heaven without animals."

If you've been a visitor of HHFA, chances are good that you've met our very helpful greeter, Hemingway. Hemingway has been entered in America's Favorite Pet competition and could use your help and votes!

The winner of this contest will win a significant monetary prize. If Hemingway wins, his mother would donate this to PAWS. PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare Society)is a non profit organization, their mission to help cats, dogs, and wild animals thrive in happy, healthy homes or in their natural habitats.

In addition, if he wins, Hemingway would be featured on the cover of the popular magazine, Modern Dog. Please help our good boy win with just a few moments of your time and a vote!

We are so thankful to each and every person who donated towards our Giving Tree fundraiser this year. It has been a huge success!

In total we raised $556 through the generosity of so many of you. Dr. Moore will match this, to make a total donation of $1,112 to .

Excellent news for everyone on Santa's nice list!

Children around the world received some good news today, with officials from the North Pole confirming that Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and the rest of Santa’s reindeer have been approved for their Christmas Eve flight following a health checkup from Santa’s veterinarian.

HHFA will have limited hours over the next two weeks, due to the upcoming holidays. We will be closing early both Christmas and New Year's Eve and will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day, in order for the staff to enjoy time with their families.

We will be closing 1 hour early today, at 4PM, for our staff holiday celebrations. We will be back tomorrow morning at 8am. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience, we promise photos of shenanigans in return.

Some of you may have noticed a friendly new face around the clinic. We'd like to introduce our newest resident/hopeful employee. Allow us to formally introduce you to Tommy Pickles. Tommy Pickles came to us as a foster from Heaven Can Wait, but he may just stick around if we are lucky.

Tommy likes long naps on the counter, treats and the warm desktop in Dr. Jackson's office. CJ and Jerry are working diligently to train him in all areas of the clinic. Although he is still is in probationary period, so far he is getting rave performance reviews.

This Holiday season, we wanted to try something new with our annual "Gabbi's Giving Tree".

For a $1 donation, you can purchase an ornament, write your pets' name on it, and help us to decorate our tree and lobby. All proceeds will go to Pound Buddies and we will match all funds raised.
