March is Reading Month and we here at HHFA & VDS take reading very seriously. 📚📖

Even our littlest member, James, Dr. Moore’s 3 year old grandson, likes to get in on the fun. He loves to “read” to his canine companions Sully & Cooper (with a special guest appearance from Rosie, our clinic greeter).

Dr. Moore, Dr. Jackson and staff get frequent lovely notes and cards from our wonderful clients. We do truly appreciate all the kind words more than we can say.

When Max came in to see Dr. Moore for an oral problem he needed help with, we received this very sweet card from his sister, Natalie. This card made Dr. Moore's day. It was our honor to care for Natalie's boy, Max.

We get praise all the time for the compassion, kindness and professionalism of our staff while they're ON the job.

What you maybe don't know is how hard they work at being a true family OUTSIDE the clinic.

Picnics, Peeps contests during the Easter season, summer camping trips, holiday parties, monthly dinners out, trips to Mackinac Island . . . all of those things add up to true, familial caring at HHFA.

Yesterday, about half the staff were able to take part in a VERY relaxing Sound Journey led by Marie Rothenberger of Echo Fusion Healing Arts followed by a healthy lunch and lots and lots of laughs.

Taking care of the staff who take such good care of your pets has always been our mission.

The rewards are obviously immense because these folks are the absolute BEST.

While February is National Pet Dental Health Month, here at HHFA we care about your pets' oral health every day. We recognize that oral health maintenance is imperative to maintaining overall health.

Recently, Gertie had a comprehensive oral cleaning, scaling and polishing. She couldn't wait to show off her beautiful teeth and asked her owner to send this photo to Dr. Moore.

Dixie (and her wonderful mom) celebrated her sweet 16 birthday in style and brought us a delicious cake to commemorate the special occasion.

We are so honored to be a part of her life and birthday celebration.

Happy 16th birthday, Dixie! 🎂🎉🎊

It's Love Your Pet Day! ♥️🐱🐶

Peter and Kenzie, two of our good friends(pictured below), are helping us celebrate. We recommend a few good options for celebrating them tonight: share a picture of your special friends below in the comments and give them a few extra treats tonight (they deserve it).

Taco would like you all to know that he is ready for longer days, with more sun. Like many of us, he has been ready for bed by 6:30 most evenings. These early evenings are for the birds.

Because of your generosity in donating $250, Dr. Moore has matched the contributions and a $500 gift has been sent to
Pet Supreme/Foothill Vet Clinic, located in the San Fernando Valley.

The small business is helping animals affected by the fires with free emergency kits and exams.

A few hours ago we learned more fires are breaking out in San Diego; near where Dr. Moore did much of his training in veterinary dentistry.

Obviously, the need isn't over. We will leave the donation jar on the desk and continue to forward and augment your contributions.

Thank you so much for all you do to help animals. -- the HHFA staff

Tomorrow, January 22nd, is "National Answer Your Cat's Question Day".

Tommy Pickles has requested to assist us with this. He would like you to comment below all of your kitties' burning questions and he will answer them(in due time, he is somewhat lazy).

"Look for the helpers" -- Fred Rogers

Friends: We are accepting contributions through Saturday for our first donation to aid animals in L.A.

While there are MANY organizations which will accept monetary contributions, HHFA made a decision for this first contribution to help a friend of a friend.

March Parnprome of Pet Supreme/Foothill Vet Clinic, located in the San Fernando Valley, is a client of Spring Lake residents Susan and Bob Negan, owners of WhizBang Training.

Since the fires began there has been no business as usual for either the pet store or the veterinary hospital.

Rather, they have been distributing emergency kits and are providing free examinations for pets for fire victims and first responders.

This weekend groomers associated with the businesses are traveling to Pasadena to wash pets and give out more emergency kits.

The following is from an email from Mr. Parnprome thanking YOU for all your assistance.

"The support that people have given is a testament to human kindness and compassion. Whether the donation goes to us or however you spread the funds collected SoCal appreciates the love and support!"

Thank you for all you are doing to help. -- the HHFA staff
