Just a couple reminders.
If you have an Arkansas Bred Lamb that you want to show at the ABL show at the State Fair you need to head to arksheepcouncil.com and get the information you need to become a member of the Arkansas Junior Sheep Council and get your lamb nominated.
*This membership also allows you to gain points at sanctioned jackpot shows this summer for ABL (nominated, eligible, lambs only), market lambs and showmanship categories.
Also Please let Suzie know so the breeder paperwork gets turned in correct. If you have questions about joining AJSC contact Janeal Yancey, you will find her contact info on the Breeder tab on the website.
If you are showing at the Washington County Fair you must enter online. Mywashcofair.com go to the Fair Book tab and scroll down to get the entry form. I have had a couple people reach out to me about birthdates & you can just put January 2025 because almost all lambs were born in January. Put what breed you think they are Hampshire, black Face cross, white face cross, Southdown etc. it might be adjusted when you check in. If you have questions just reach out to Suzie.
Washington County exhibitors may choose to show at either the NW District Fair in Harrison which you need to enter online at https://www.northwestarkansasdistrictfair.com/
or the Arkansas Oklahoma State Fair in Fort Smith. Their website and entry information can be found at https://www.arkansasoklahomafair.com/
Other county fair exhibitors please check with your extension agent or AG teacher to make sure you get entered correctly.
We love updates and pictures and want to help you with your lambs. Please reach out with any questions or updates.
