🐾 Why TNR Matters for Our Community 🐾

TNR stands for Trap–Neuter–Return, and it’s one of the most effective and humane ways to manage community (feral) cat populations. By spaying or neutering feral cats and returning them to their outdoor homes, TNR:

• Prevents unwanted litters
• Reduces nuisance behaviors like fighting, spraying, and yowling
• Improves the overall health and welfare of the cats
• Helps stabilize and reduce the feral cat population over time

✨ Our November Numbers Are In! ✨

This month, our team at Main Street Spay & Neuter fixed 412 animals!
Our feral cat intake has been absolutely incredible, and we want to give a huge THANK YOU to every community member who took the time to trap, transport, and advocate for these kiddos. Because of you, they’ll live healthier, safer lives.

With November wrapped up, we’re now at 4,124 spay/neuter surgeries for the year — and we still have an entire month to go! 🐾💙

But our month didn’t stop at routine surgeries. We were honored to help several emergency cases for both the public and our rescue partners, including:
🐱 A sweet rescue kitty who needed an eye removed
🐈 A feral cat requiring entropion surgery
🐶 An emergency pyometra spay that saved a dog’s life
🐾 A kitty referred from EVH with a degloved chin, who our amazing vet squeezed in same-day to get him fixed up and comfortable again

🦃🐾 Keep Your Pets Safe This Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is fun for us, but it’s one of the busiest days of the year for vets. At Main Street Spay Neuter we adore our patients, but we definitely don’t want to see them because they’re sick.

A few quick reminders to keep your furry friends safe:

🍗 No table scraps — turkey skin, bones, stuffing, gravy, and desserts can all cause serious illness.
🗑️ Secure the trash — carcasses, string, and food packaging are major dangers.
🕯️ Watch the décor — candles, plants, and small decorations can be hazardous.
🚪 Prevent door-dashing — guests coming and going can lead to escaped pets.
😺 Give shy pets a quiet space — holidays can be overwhelming.
