We are feeling very blessed this morning: Ashley was able to connect with an old Warrior buck last night.

The weather was warm but he was on his feet early checking different plots/scrapes. As he made his way down the trail at 20 yards she stopped him, and settled her pin.

Great deer and fun times with friends all around!

You may have noticed the unseasonably warm temperatures that we have faced well into November the last few years. Cantrall Taxidermy would like to relay some educational tips to help preserve your trophy of a lifetime. We can improve our game plan together.

-How will you keep your trophy cool?
-Will you be caping your animal or someone else?
-Shoulder or European mount?
-How can you easily transport your trophy.

Here are some tips below to aid in a successful transition from carcass to trophy! Check out these directions that lay out where to cut when caping your deer. ALSO: please note where to stop when cutting the chest cavity for field dressing!

*Cantrall Taxidermy is happy to help any clients with the caping process- but we do ask that you decide how you’ll keep the deer cool in the meantime, whether that be our walk in cooler or your own*

Final thoughts for Euro clients- how long the euro sits after the harvest; ie outside, unfrozen, with skin on or off, WILL effect your outcome of the quality of the European product. So please try to get the head off and frozen or cooled and immediately to your taxidermist for the best results.
